I believe Alexander Johnson was one of the earliest clients of David Thorpe, who is Kevin Martin's personal trainder/coach.

Did we sign him for the rest of the season already? I may have missed it.

Any more so than Wafer? Or Artest for that matter?

Morey gambles on questionable character as much as any GM. As long as there's little risk involved.

I guess it hurts your flexibility, but if that's all you lose, and the guy has any chance at all to contribute, I would do it.

Wow, can you imagine this guy playing with Chase, Jordan, Jermaine and Kyle LOL

Of course, we know it takes time to learn RA's offense. I think the team will have an early start for their summer training.

The non-guaranteed money (Harris + Johnson) and 125%+$100k trade rule could allow the Rockets to take on more if that's going to be an incentive when the LT level dips next season. If they're off-season trade fodder, no. of players/roster spaces won't be an issue.

3 Lottery teams that might salary dump on draft night:

Pacers: Lottery pick puts them over the tax. Open to trading down pick to stay under the tax?

Hornets: $71.76M, Open to trading down pick to reduce tax?

Jazz: $56.69M, if Boozer re-signed... Open to trading down pick? Jazz gave away Brewer to get under LT this season.

Don't see it happening. Boozer's been angling to leave for a while now. Couple that with his injury history and it makes way more sense to let him walk and then draft his replacement with the Knicks top 10 pick.

    Slightly interesting..

When we first acquired KM and Armstrong, for some unfathomable reason, my brain was thinking that Armstrong was this Alexander Johnson guy, and all I remembered was that he was a guy everyone was very high on on Draft Night a few years ago.

So I was disappointed to find out that Armstrong was, well, Hilton Armstrong, instead of Alexander Johnson.

I actually had no idea that he had never stuck in the league, and don't know anything ab out him other than the slight hype on Draft Night.

So, maybe DM is making a smart play here, we'll see.. maybe the guy is about to mature and blossom, ala Elie, someone like that.

Well, I admit that I'm baffled. Back in 2006 I was surprised Johnson was drafted as low as he was (#45). A season or two ago I would have been delighted, but now that we have Scola, Hill, Jeffries and Andersen I don't see the need. Are we going to waive Chuck Hayes or Mike Harris? Just on height alone, Armstrong has more trade value than either. Puzzling, especially when the PF-rich draft is considered.
