I don´t understand the huge amount of people against Nash coming to Houston... unbelievable.

And the most unique think, is that 99% of the people love Nash as a player, but from what I have read, the majority thinks he is too old, or "will not make us a contender".

These are opinions, so I will make mine as easy and short to understand as possible, let´s compare us to Dallas, thinking, that we managed to land Nash plus Gortat for anyone other then Martin Battier and Scola

    Nash >>>>>> Kidd
    Martin >>>>> Stevensen
    Battier < Marion
    Scola <<<<<< Dirk
    Gortat >=< Chandler

    any 6th man <<<<<<<Terry

I am not saying it is possible to land Nash and Gortat for anyone other then Martin Battier and Scola, but I question, don´t you think these two teams would be very balanced between each other??? another question, don´t the majority of the people think Dallas is a contender??? so why would Houston with Nash plus a true center would not bee one???

People overrate the 37 year number, and the fact that Nash doesn´t play elite defense, and underrate who is Nash offensively, and the ability of Morey getting a Center with him.

Look, Nash is averaging the same amount of assists with an Amare less team.... Do y´all understand how great that is??? But has some of you said, imagine Nash loses all his physical abilities, let´s also imagine he loses all the b-ball IQ he has (never going to happen), and from now on he would have 5 assists per game, he is a 50%fg 40%3pt and 90% ft shooter, he would still be as deficient as the elite shooting the ball.

Plus no one talks about how much elite talent would love to play with a facilitator plus shooter like Nash, plus a true professional guy. And don´t say to me that Nash wasn´t enough for Amare to stay, he went to NY because he wanted to, it wasn´t about what he had in PHO, Nash was probably the only reason he even thought about coming back.

Getting Nash and another big man would move us into contention. Think about it. More scoring and an inside presence that we currently lack, would upgrade this team. Lets just hope it happens sooner rather than later.

Getting Nash might increase our chances of getting Camelo. Nash should have at least 2 good years left in him. We have enough assets to get both Nash and Camelo.

Brooks, Bud, PatPat, JJ + Ariza TE for Nash & Gortat

Yao, TWill, Hill, 2012 NY 1st rd pick for Camelo & Harrington

    Gortat/Miller/Hayes
    Scola/Harrington
    Camelo/Battier
    Martin/Lee
    Nash/Lowry

If Camelo really wants to win this line up is way better than NY/NJ.

Zero defense in the starting line-up, but lots and lots of scoring. Hmmmm....

It would be no difference than what we have now, only we would be even better at offense.

We need a game changing big before worrying about another offensive minded player.

We have no problem with putting points on the board.

Adelman and Morey have been quoted comparing Lowry to Nash... And I do believe it would be great for him to mentor Lowry.. It just wouldn't make sense to give up lotto picks and young talent for more offense alone.

Well we are barely losing games. Mostly because of our scoring droughts in the 2nd half. Maybe more scorng is the answer.

No Please no. I do not want Nash. He doesn't solve any of our problems.

We are rebuilding. So why lose young players for a 37 year old.
Our problem is our defence. So why get a no defence only offensive player? We need a defensive minded player. Preferably a shot blocking center. Not a Point guard who does not even know that there are 2 sides on the court.

thank you. all this nonsense about Nash landing us Melo etc. Nash does not get us to the next level. lets go for youth, not a quick fix bandaid that will get us a crappy lotto pick or a first round exit.

    we need to rebuild.

Nash would solve closing issues instantly.

I hear a lot of people saying we need young talent and look to the future etc....

Tomorrow never comes my pedigree chums, we need to improve now, not take a chance that a draft pick turns into a superstar.

Sam Bowie mk2 is waiting for us.

But what if by taking on Nash's contract we are able to get Gortat or Lopez. Then we get a decent center and someone who can close out games.

Nash would be an instant upgrade, no matter what, and his game doesn't rely on athleticism at all, so he has at least 3 years more in tha tank, MORE IMPORTANT....he'd be superstar more willing to join him in Houston.....

Giving the Yao expiring, plus Brooks and Budinger, should do the trick, taking Nash, Robin L and perhaps Warrick to match salaries....

Anyway, getting Nash should FO make serously think in trading MArtin for a SG with more D....MArtin for Iggy could be possible, shorter contract and easier to trade for the sixers, some sweetener (Patterson or draft pick) could be added in extrem case (not neccesary right now the sweetener cause KM has more cache)...

KM is perhaps better than Iggy overall, but with Nash coming, Iggy would be a far better fit (2 way SG)....palying Nash and KM at the same time would be suicide, as happened when playing AB and KM together....

And we would finally have a presence of another 7 footer on the court in gortat.

Just think in the new roster..

    PG: Nash, Lowry, Ish
    SG: Iggy, Lee
    SF: Battier, Williams
    PF: Scola, Hill, Patterson
    C: Hayes, Lopez, Miller

And there would be still enough assets to get a better center (Lowry, PPat, Hill, 1 1st rd pick, if trades ar ewell done, Miller as salary filler if needed)....

True. But Martin was not quite "The Face of the Franchise" that Nash is.

Steve Nash sells tickets in Phoenix. Kevin Martin wasn't selling too many in Sacramento.

Big difference, especially to owners like Sarver and the Maloofs, who have been hurting financially recently.
