37 yrs old. Below average defensively. Just what we need.

Nash as the only move would be kind of pointless as I don't see him alone making us contenders to win it all, and I would only trade for someone of his age if I thought that he pushed us over the top.

However, Nash and a run at Carmello even if it was a one year rental could make you instant contenders ala the Celtics, the question being how much would you have to give up to do it, and would you risk it for that one shot when it is possible you fail and the team is even further set back next year?

As Morey said, it is incredibly difficult to get a star player in their prime from another team without extraneous circumstances. Therefore, he usually targets players that he thinks can blossom into one (T Wil) or are aging veterans that have some thread left on their tires (B Miller).

Nash is a star with incredible efficiency and the ability to create shots for himself and his teammates. Mr 50/40/90 with K Mart creates the best/most efficient shooting backcourt in the history of the NBA. Our perimeter defense is not our forte and with today's rules, even a good defender like Lowry has a difficult time dealing with opposing guards. Therefore our defensive struggles come from our lack of presence in the frontcourt.

Ofcourse we want CP3, Melo, as plan A, B... but if these aren't possible, I would be more than satisfied with Nash by the deadline.

Would love to have Nash if he were younger but coming to Houston to play wouldn't do anything for us but sell tickets. I rather see him go to a contender and have a real chance at winning a ring (which he deserves).

If you could get Nash and a big for Budinger/Brooks/Hill you would be crazy not to turn the deal down. Nash is old, but still a great player and will be a good player for at least 2 more years. Plus, the odds of Nash attracting solid players are at least realistic.

The new plan is to team up Nash and Yao, just in time for the 2012 apocalypse... Bobby Sura should be back by then, too...

There are many Pros and Cons to attaining Nash but I feel the Pros when you really look at the situation out weigh the Cons......

1)First off....Its Steve Nash......come on people the guy is a top 5 PG at 37!!!

    2) He will sell tickets...and the last time i checked the NBA is a business first and not some fantasy leaugue most fans think it is.

3)he will attract other stars.....who doesnt want to play with NAsh???.......ill wait?!!

4)He makes this team better...period.....maybe not defensively but for sure offensively.

5)trading for him might be the best way to get a Center in a package deal....Lopez/Gortat.....

6)We could always trade him elsewhere for other assets......who wouldnt want Nash.....Knicks would kill for the guy and you know how we like to rape them.

7)Could help Lowry develope his game even more by playing with Nash...which will help us in the future..(Since Lowry looks to be the Rox future PG even with Nash)

8)he is a team player and not a distraction ever.....

    9) He makes everyone that plays with him better.....If we can keep HILL imagine Nash throwing it up for hill to throw it down 3-5 times a game, ala Stoudimire!!

10)Alot of yall hate on the guy for the dumbest reason like the guy wasnt MVP of the League not too long ago!!! He is a SUPERSTAR.....ISNT THAT WHAT EVRYBODY WANTS ANYWAY??!

JUST KNOW THE ROX WANT HIM MORE THEN THEY DONT...

    IT IS WRITTEN.........

Good post, I was going to put something out just like this, Nash would improve our team a great deal, and hell yeah he would bring other stars here.

Four trades, each with the Suns:

Nash for Brooks, Budinger, Hill, and Battier.

    Vince Carter for Yao.

    Gortat for Jeffries.

    Frye for Ariza's trade exception.

    PG: Nash/Lowry/Smith
    SG: Martin/Lee
    SF: Carter/Williams
    PF: Scola/Patterson/Hayes
    C: Gortat/Frye

Suns save a ton of money and get 3 good prospects.
