Capella is still young and looks like he could be an elite shot blocker. We really don't want to trade or cut him for NOTHING! The right decision would be to either trade or cut Black, he has less experience than Dorsey in my opinion.

    Q. DD: Capella = ? on the trade market, to (a) DM the GM (b) the GM of a team a year or three away (who BTW cherishes the value of picks), be it Philly, Oh!lando, Milwaukee, NYK, Utah, Indy, Char, Detroit, Denver, Mini (or even a contender who might believe a roster spot is value added for his [perceived] future value)?

Me? I'm not giving him away. He has Freak-like athleticism, youth, growth potential; ain't gonna be ready to contribute this year or likely next? But, when he does...

Terry is the worst defensive player on this current roster. Period. It's not even close.

    lol

Not at all. In the past the team seems to play more the players that are going to be traded.

I think Morey should be able to get a mid second round pick for Capela. I think whoever he decides to trade is in relation to what the Suns want in the package for Dragic. If the Suns like Capela, don't trade Capela. If the Suns like Johnson, don't trade Johnson unless it's for getting Dragic now.

Gotta be Capella traded or cut. Who cares if he becomes a 2nd rotation player in 3-4 years. Morey could find 2 or 3 more guys like during that time anyway. Black and Dorsey contribute now, great insurance this year.

I can't seem to find RAPM this season, but the ESPN "real" plus minus is supposed to be a very similar stat. Both are pretty bad defensive players, they were both bad last year too.

Terry is -1.28 defense, and -2.19 overall

Canaan is -1.06 defense, and -1.29 overall

Their defensive ratings are both 104, Canaan has a slightly higher offensive rating 108 to 106. Neither one of them have been very good this year, but Canaan has shown a decidedly greater ability to create offense aside from jumpers. He has also shot better.

Canaan probably gets the best return out of the group. Which is like a 2nd rounder.

The most likely scenario is cutting either Black or Capella.

I don't think many teams would be interested in helping the Rockets open up a roster spot by giving up some asset to take a marginal NBA player off our hands. They'll likely just wait for us to waive the guy if they are mildly interested.

Terry is definitely the worst perimeter defender we have. Mainly because of his age and his lateral quickness diminishing

granted terry is a bad defender
he's someone crucial to the championship run. he shows up when we need him. ive seen many games in which we are down that he takes a shot and gets it going for the rest of the team.
imo, he's a huge part of this team and he's a pretty consistent shooter.

Why does everyone wanna just give Capella away? Dude has barely gotten the soles of his feet wet yet half of you are 'done' with him. Why trade away an athletic freak with a ridiculous ceiling when we can cut someone like Black and have less than 200k go against the cap. This is just a move to clear up a space.

I think Dorsey will be the odd man out....he was being showcased in the last game....

It's probably because of the reasons you mentioned above. He has the highest trade value of all the players mentioned. If Clint waited 2 more years to enter the draft, he could possibly be in the top 5 lottery. If Morey can get a bellow top 10 lotto pick for him, I would be happy with that even if Clint tuns out to be the next Mutombo.

Yes, I think so too. Would you consider trading for Mo Williams? He can be helpful in a playoff run IMO. His one year 3.7 M contract makes him potentially available.

Once Rubio gets back, Canaan can back him up. Add the NY 2nd rounder, or Dorsey/Capela for him too.

I am suggesting this because Dragic will be hard to get, and Shved is inexperienced.

I agree, but we are in win now mode, and Black can help, honestly I would dump Dorsey.
