They also have a 16 point margin of victory. have you seen the Rockets? It's only 5.7, the lowest in our division, besides Memphis.

Might there be a Rockets / Celtics Finals again????

Looks like someone hasn't been paying attention to the Celtics' defense, which is statisically the best in the entire NBA thus far.

Boston will easily win the east but I think they are still behind the western teams.

Although as past years have shown once the Western teams make it to the Finals it sure is hard to win. Might be all those 7 and 6 game series against contenders.

same arguement can be made with celtics playing all those eastern teams.
Lets talk when celtic play the triangle texan teams.

I think Rockets should be number 1 or 2, defiantely i don't see why spurs is ahead of us when we beat them.

I can't take the power ranking to seriously, they seem to piss me off just about every week. But, it is nice Houston ranking at the top and getting a little respect. San Antonio IS the defending champs, I can give them that for now. But what happens on Fri. when they get a "L" at home. Do you still think we will be ranked below them? Boston, have the Big Three and still haven't lost a game yet, so they can have that. Boston won't be perfect all year so it will be interesting to see how things pan out. The Rockets will only get better as the year progresses.

With the way the rocket played this week, no way in hell do they deserve #1. Spur have completely dominated their opponent, while rocket have to struggle their way to a win vs. crappy team.

I can live with a 2nd or 3rd place ranking for now. It's early in the season and we haven't gotten through this week yet. If we win out this week, I will be ticked if we aren't 1st.

LOL. That's a four-game losing streak waiting to happen. The Three Texas Teams in four days and then New Orleans right after? If the Rockets weren't even more screwed by the schedule makers (four games in five days next week with the last two being SA and Phoenix) I might actually have some pity for them.

I think you mean March, but they start getting the real deal at the end of December, they play Utah, Lakers and we play them on Jan. 2.

That rating is so stupid and bias. Didn't the Rockets just beat the Spurs?? How can a team beat the other and yet still rank below them?? Dumb shyt!

Boston will obviously be the media darling, giving hope to the east, and will be overrated all season. I have watched all Celtics games and am thoroughly impressed, but the only real team they played is Denver and the Nugs looked stoned.

3 is top 10%, I'll take that all year. I for one don't want #1 recognition, leave everybody else preparing for San Antonio when they make the Texas trip.

For those of you that are surprised that we are 3 (and not 1) in Marc Stein's eyes, then you should open yours. ESPN loves the east, Spurs, and BS writers like Stein.

We are not #1 because of Mark Stein. He is a Dallas homer and hates the Rockets. Which is why every week it seems he is taking "toungue in cheek" shots at the Rockets.

You don't have to agree with me but I want a 8 pts win over the spurs more than 20 pts win over the wizards any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Stein sounds like he was just forced to put the Rox there. Hope Hollinger kicks his ass.
