This. He may not get max money, but something close enough. PP was completely off my radar, but when it became known he could opt out, I knew he would. Props to him for not flapping his jaws about this all season.
i might get out of Boston if I wanted to win a another ring if I was Pierce. The Celtics are not getting better with the decline of Garnet and Allen gone(most likely) They did make the finals but lets be honest they probably won't make it next season if there roster doesn't improve dramatically.
Hmmmm, I wonder how good Garnett would look next to Yao? We do have the assets to make it worth Boston's best interests. While he's older than Bosh, he has a better overall game than Bosh.
Link If true then it might have influenced Pierce's decision to opt out. I'll take Alex's word for it though, I've posted with him at OTR for years and is quite reliable source.
Pierce is perfect for the Knicks, sign him to a 5 year deal and then watch him get injured and be a cap albatross until 2015.
He'd be smart to leave. It's a sinking ship in Boston with the uncertainty of Doc Rivers, as well as Ray Allen. Not to mention their window has closed to win another championship.
Heard from a reliable source Pierce has opted out due to his distain fir the Celtic's wheelchair quality and availability He has definitely lost a step, the fear of the new CBA certainly has players really worried, the flip side for those spending teams this summer if the cap goes down and contracts get more owner friendly is they could be seriously locked in and hampered by those what will grandfather contracts signed this off season
I'm guessing a Rockets player as we seem to use wheelchairs a lot. Anyway, pretty good move by Pierce. I would be shocked and hate Pierce's guts if he left the Celtics though. I think Pierce would take a pay cut for the team (plus he gets more guaranteed money in the long run).
Why would you hate his guts? He'd be smart to leave for greener pastures, the Celtics are done as a contender.
He's played for the Celtics through rebuilding before. It's just nice to actually see a player be loyal and play for a team once in a while. Plus, as he's opting out and Ray Ray is probably leaving, the Celtics will have some cap space. And stop with the bull**** about Celtics being done. They were done at the end of the regular season according to everyone and were a few plays away from winning GAme 7 of the NBA Finals after CRUSHING the two best records.
Or maybe having Free Agency taking a stab at him? He's probably opting out so his name can be dropped with the other big name free agents.
