Now that the Rockets are aware we are not in contention for Durant's services.....does Morey waste the valuable first night (ipad) visit on him??? I am hoping we use it for a legitimate shot at Derozen or Whiteside.

I doubt he'd have reported it if he thought that, again, he's a Mavs homer and a Rockets hater. Even then, he doesn't have very much credibility when it comes to Rockets rumors, not that he hasn't been right before but the general policy should be to wait for someone more credible.

Based on a Stein Tweet? I doubt the Rockets believe that because it hasn't been reported via a credible source. When Stein is the only person saying something and it's about the Rockets and negative, you have to take it with a grain of salt.....of course that won't stop the Chicken Little Rockets fans from freaking out about it.

    Exactly.

On July 1st, many teams will wait on line at Durant's door with their hats in hand. OKC is the most likely team for him if simply because it's a good team and he has history there; but everyone knows it's far, far from a lock.

So we get OKC's GM giving subtle hints in his interviews about Durant valuing---was it "family" or "loyalty" or some such thing? You get the idea.

And you get Stein with his annual memo from Cuban, meant to put a germ of doubt in Durant's mind while also containing a brush-back comment about "while tampering is seldom enforced...."

There is nothing wrong with going after Durant, but IMHO, this is PURE PR from the Rockets - and if they are wasting too many cycles chasing this guy, and not focusing on building a team around Harden, that is where I would have a problem.

Go after Durant - sure, realize you have less than 1% chance of getting him so be FOCUSING on actual attainable targets, and if he somehow decides to come here, adjust your plan.

Not sure it's been said, but I started to think about this:

What if he told James --- "fix the squad, and get back with me in 2017" ? Feasible, no?

Why do people keep saying this?

The validity of an article is not based on the reaction to it.

The core of this situation is that the only source is a Dallas beat writer, which would still be the case if he said "Durant is ONLY considering Houston right now".

The same Shaq that completely stopped criticizing Dwight the moment he started sharing agents and immediately started hating on Harden for not giving Dwight the ball on the post so Dwight can get a huge contract this offseason?

Mind sharing your formula for our 1% chance? What's OKC's chance? GSW? SAS? Just curious.

Share the ball with who? Dwight and his ineffective posts up or Dwight and his lack of PNR? Were you watching some other rockets team that had viable second and third offensive options?

    That's clearly a proprietary formula.

    You don't know?

DD thinks we should have been feeding DMO the ball all game. He's the real star of the team and the rockets have been holding him back.

He put up 17/10 per 36 min.... Superstar.

Well the Rockets did win the only postseason game where they gave him legit starters minutes and lost all of the others where they didn't give him legit minutes.....so yeah JBB being a moron and playing the wrong players certainly hurt the team.

I rounded up....it should be zero!

I never said they should feed him the ball, but that he is a good role player who fits with Harden, and that him in the post is a **** LOAD better than Dwight there.

    Capella
    Who cares
    Durant
    Harden
    Westbrook
Everything pending if these guys want the band back together. The boys pick Houston cause the money works for them. Kanter Adams Ibaka ..would be on the books.

I don't believe Stein to be honest. I'm certain Durant will consider the Rockets, he will meet with them at the very very least.

At the end of the day, we will have basically no chance of getting him when the options are presented, but he will consider the Rockets.

I'm sure Stein and Cuban had a chuckle over this article before it was posted.
