[Stein] Brooks, Battier for Camby was discussed, but is unlikely

Butler for Camby works. Sucks that Dallas gets that much stronger while the Rockets can't do squat with their misfit roster.

 

That's a ridiculous trade !!! What is Morey doing, has he lost his mind or something ? Just because Brooks throws a fit and Battier is old doesn't mean we should get a guy on his way to retirement!

Man it looks like Morey is just trying to trade just to trade. Camby is a good player much better than Miller but he is old. I'm tired of Houston being the place where the old go to die. It's good for Dallas because they have so many Biggs wouldn't matter.

I wouldn't care if the rockets didnt move anyone if there is nothing out there, which seems to be the case. This Season is over even with a trade.

even if he doesn't get overpaid will his agency CAA try to push him to Miami?

only camby? they have rights to victor klaver (sf) and joel freeland (pf/c) but that's more role player potential. would they give up either wesley matthews or batum?

 

Probably offerred Battier for Camby and Portland wanted Brooks as well, which kills deal.

 

Camby said he would retire if he goes to a rebuilding situation. I wonder if that includes Houston?

I would do Brooks, Miller, Jeffries for Camby and Patty Mills.

I think you have to look long and hard at the Brooks situation and realize keeping him for less money than he thinks he's worth serves no purpose. He's going to continue playing uninspired ball for us, neither helping the team or his future trade value. And if we don't match a high offer he gets in RFA, we lose him for nothing. I don't mind at least getting a defensive center with 11 rebounds per game for a year and a half.
