Rooting for them to lose isn't going to fix the problem though. Bottom line, if they don't make the playoffs, heads will roll. If they do, they're better than expected and we should all be happy with the playoffs.

So kind of like when everyone was calling for JVG's head early last season when the Rockets were struggling. I agree they have looked terrible, but we've only played one game. I'm still going to give them a chance to right the ship (like the Rockets), and I'm certainly not going to hope that they lose.

I've now spent 4 entire seasons worth of season tickets. If they start from scratch including the players, I'm going to be pissed.

This season, if they don't at least go 8-8, they can oust Palmer and Capers. I don't think Casserley is a bad GM. He has confidence in the selections that he has made and I'm going to give them a chance - even Pitts.

The only person suitable for his position on the OL is Pitts - IMO. The rest can go, including McKinney. I believe that Mathis will move in as the second WR, eventually. The rest of the offense needs time to gel.

Just exactly what type of changes do you have in mind? It would seem as though you have your heart set on them failing, so I'm curious.

Just found out I have a ticket on the 40 yard line, 9th row. Not to mention, we get reimbursed for all our food/drink purchases.

I know I was hard on the Texans during preseason and in the Bills game thread, but folks, CALM DOWN. There is no way a pro team is going to play that badly twice in a row. They may lose, but I doubt it will be a stinker.

It's called instant karma for inviting an OU fan to the UT game tomorrow night. :)

    CriscoKidd,

I've enjoyed our brief but intelligent argument. I've tried typing my reply to your last past THREE times with my Netscape browser shutting down everytime for absolutely no reason, twice in the last paragraph of what I was typing. So for all intents & purposes i'm throwing the towel in because i'm sick of typing the damn thing.

    ditto.

Small tip: whenever I type up something lengthy, I always ctrl-c the thing before I submit the post. It doesn't happen often, but occasionally there will be some error that will swallow up my post and I'd rather paste it than try to regurgitate it. :)

And for what it's worth, it's kind of a minor argument. I do think they are one of the best teams in the league, we just differ on exactly how much greater they are than their comp in this particular year. Unless Ben busts, which I highly doubt even though I think he may struggle, the Steelers have the foundation to be contenders now and for years to come.

Just ran into to Casserly at Red Robin. I shook his hand and told him don't worry about everyone panicing about the season. As I walked off he said "its only one game".
