    Except that Ben was not only not convicted of anything (unlike Vick), no charges were even filed against him.

    For years that was the one thing you could do in the NFL/NBA/MLB was beat up your wife/girlfriend/mistresses/random chick at the bar and not get into any trouble.

    Do drugs (cocaine, crack, meth, or etc.), automatic suspension. Punch your wife in the face or throw girlfriend outside naked. No charges. Heck, originally Pacman did not get into trouble for slamming a stripper's head into a table.

    like I said. . . some of the women's groups are thinking the NFL isn't taking it seriously.

    I think it is a bunch of hype. . .
    big Ben is a big target about now. . . . . Random chick in a club
    passes by him can shout HE TOUCHED ME and it would require a investigation now

    Don't know if I should start a new thread but pretty big news....

    @Adam_Schefter: Pittsburgh has begun contacting teams to trade Ben Roethlisberger for a top 10 pick. At least one team considering it. Story far from done.

    If we acquired him, it will only perpetuate the "LOOK THE RAIDERS WILL TAKE ANY THUG OFF THE STREET" mentality that is still prevalent in the minds of some NFL fans, despite the fact that the Raiders have had one of the most law-abiding teams over the past couple of decades.

    Now the fans, sure... they are thugs. No question there, and the thug mentality is still alive and well in the minds of the fans, but the organization does not go out of their way to sign players with checkered pasts.

    Ben R. isn't a thug. He's just a guy who can't run game without the help of Jack Daniels, despite being a two-time Superbowl Champion Quarterback.
