Anyone else have one? I put $5 down a month ago to get in line for availability and it came up two days ago. I went ahead and ordered one. Selling points for me: Steam games Geek vibes Near-seamless emulation of consoles, including Nintendo Switch (SOME games) Cons: Price to value; $650 for 512gb model, another $150 for SD card and accessories Battery life sucks My wife convinced me to buy it; she said our kids would get some use out of it. Review: Steam Deck vs Nintendo Switch: EmuDeck Setup: Emulation: https://www.emudeck.com/
I'm fairly content with buying another ipad pro when the one I'm using starts slowing down. Seems like Steamdeck would be a good chance to play all those Humble Bumble games bought in the past but never got around starting. Emulation sounds nice too. A lot of advances towards making it as smooth as possible.
I went ahead and ordered the 64gb since it seems that there is not that much difference between reading from the ssd to an sd card
Lots of reviews compare it to ‘the switch pro’ or ‘switch for adults’. It emulates switch games. Ymmv
Somehow "steam deck" sounds like something really gross... like a combination of a cleaveland steamer and an upper-decker. And no, I'm not proud that I know what those two things are.
Got mine in today. It's very nice. Solid, good weight, feels quality. I'm going to a concert tonight so I won't be able to play with it until tomorrow. First world problems.
Bought the 64gb version about a month ago. I upgraded the ssd to 512gb and bought a 1tb micro sd card. Since then I have: Used steam deck to remote play off PS5 Installed Xbox game pass Tried a few n64 and 3ds emulation Installed a couple games off steam account I've spent more times tinkering and messing with different settings versus playing any games so far. To me its just an adult version of the switch. For anyone whos thinking about purchasing a steam deck, I think the cheaper route is to get a 64gb, and just upgrading the ssd yourself.
Yeah I have one. I didn't know they still make game gear. Cause that's exactly what it looks like and the thing is huge!!! Heavy then a sombitch too!
So far I have emulated: PSP PS1 PS3 Saturn Nintendo 64 Gameboy Advance Gameboy DS Switch Old-School arcade (MAME)
