Dude he gave his reasoning after the fact. Why not give it at the time and clarify? He didn't say anything before or after that exchange that gave criticisms to police treatment of Afro-Ams.
People believe that Affirmative Action is not needed in America. The comments in this thread prove the opposite.
I don't listen to Imus, but from the sounds of it, he seems to be a loose cannon if not just an idiot. However, I think people need to slow down a little bit in their calls to have him fired based on these comments. No one can deny that the quote itself is pretty vague and says nothing overtly racist. If anything, people are assuming that he was implying something racist with his comments. I realize he has a recent history of making insensitive comments before, but this seems to be pretty shaky grounds for demanding someone to be fired.
