Hmmm, anything you said different from what I proposed? Reposting, as oppose to go the other way, other option. That's stick with him. It goes without saying, but oen of my intention is to point out the WHOLE team gets better with playing with Yao. You are just being more specific in it.

daugherty, imo, is a terrible example. #s wise, i guess i can see how you had those expectations from yao. 22/11 is not shabby at all. my problem with the comparison is that brad was never considered to be an impact player. good player? yes. all star? sure. game changer? no. best player on his team at any point in his career? debatable.

yao is starting to fulfill his ability to be the best player on the court, night in and night out. daugherty could never, imo, make that statement. brad was a part of the team, but the centerpiece (no pun intended). yao, in the very near future, will the centerpiece of the rockets.

As if these two types of fans are mutually exclusively. Right. Wait a minute - "mutually exclusive" is a "geeky stats" term. Let me know if you need me to draw a picture for your critical eye to understand what that means. ;)

C'mon now R2K, you're better than that little insult you just laid down.

honestly...that wasnt aimed at stat guys like you(now that I reread it, I can see where it was kinda worded like a wide-spread insult)....guys like you lay out substance behind your evaluation of stats.

It was more in response to the hordes of ppl who seem to think stats tell them all they need to know to bash or praise a player.
The ones that bash players cause they dont have gaudy stats...the ones that ignore the fact that the player's best contributions are not measurable with numbers.

It doesnt take much to watch a game and notice something besides the flashy plays...it seems alot of ppl coule care less to really watch and see the little things that help a team win.

It is one of my pet peeves...and from time to time Ill go off about it.

my apologies if you felt targeted...I do for the most part understand and fully appreciate your posts.

    Thanks for the clarification. You're a stand-up guy :).

Agree totally with your perspective you just outlined.
