i think enough trends have been bucked this year to show that they mean nothing in 2004.

Well, there's always the "Van Gundy kills offenses" trend that never goes out of style...

"...playing like crap...at least we are winning...but..."

JayZ750, that's not what happens (saying: playing like crap, after a win). When we win, close game or not. Messy game or not. Missing shots or not. Most people just cheer Hurrah! They think, a win is a win. Most of the fair-weather (sky is falling fans) are the same one that just cheer when we win. Ok, that's fine. But they don't even care (or know) how easy it would have been to loose those game (a few shots missed here or there, i.e. that's the way the ball bounces).

What about our current situation...Well, the first game was messy. But our 2nd game was not. We played better compared to the first. And it was in the 2nd game, that we had a chance. If we had done a few things better, we would have won. It's not like we got our asses beat down. It wasn't a blow out.

People are making soooo much a big deal about 0-2, almost like it was we got beat 92 points to zero! It's not that way.

I know this sounds strange. But we are loosing the right way. I've seen games last year where I would say (after re-watching the game), "We are winning the wrong way; meaning, it's not going to last unless we improve on this or that..." Those are lucky wins.

This time, I see small improvements. It's just that everyone on this team is not familiar with their roles. Especially McGrady. I don't want lucky wins. I want dominant wins. Sure-wins. And that takes time. That's the only way we'll ever get to be a 55+ team. Being satisfied with a few *tasty* wins here or there early on, is shortsighted.

You watch. Our next win, we'll get a bunch of giddy fans here. But those that study the game will not be so happy. We'll be looking for flaws in our team. Things that could bite us later (like bad rebounding, or bad outside shooting, like fronting Yao, his offesnive fouls, and TOs). Always improve, even after a win.
