I agree the distraction is in part the conversation itself taking focus away. It's just that with the headset it isn't that it takes away one hand, it's that at least part of the brain activity has to make sure the headset is held next to the ear, especially if it's hard to hear the other person. But I admit that the conversation itself is a big part of the problem.
Out of curiosity - does anyone know if there's any research on what effect those bans on rates of traffic wrecks? Did this help things much?
just another way for the government to regulate our behavior...now they want to tell us when and where to have conversations.
just like the smoking ban, this is a matter of PUBLIC SAFETY, not personal or civil rights to have a phone call. when you are distracted on your cell phone, you are putting other peoples lives in danger.
