You're right it is the reason for me to. The first part was a jab at the texans. I might be a little more of a Texans fan if I lived there but not much. I had high hopes when they were awarded the team, and each mistake along the way imakes me wonder if its worth trying anymore. They haven't won me over completely so a little part of me wonders if going back to being a nomad is better. I will say that I have high hopes for this season. Its way different than it was the past few. So maybe this will be the make or break year for me.
But it's no different that being a Rocket or Astro fan. You hate that the team is sucking and some decisions that are made but you are still a fan. The Rockets haven't been out of the first round of the playoffs twice as long as the Texans have existed as a team. But I doubt you are any less of a Rocket fan. The Texans won't suck for ever. Get on board, it will be worth it one day. I'm actually having fun now.
My feeling on the matter here MM is this, judging from what I'm hearing from McKinney and AJ and others is pretty obvious. They really did not like David Carr and did not respect his authority or lack of it as well as his confidence in crunch time or lack of it. Telling factor i think will be this, if what we're hearing and seeing about Schaub is true, then the O-Line is actually going to work their ass off to give Matty that extra second to hit his targets downfield and the receivers are going to work harder to get open because Schaub not only possesses the ability to get the ball to them but where they want it and in stride to maximize possessions and sustain drives. Sounds good to me ... I feel if this all does come to pass, we should go 9-7! Enough said.
Trust me I've been trying since day one, it just hasn't clicked. Don't have that bond like with the other teams. Hopefully this is the year

Unfortunately when that happens there's going to be all these bandwagoners who suddenly buy Texans jerseys and crow about how they've been fans of the team "since the start". BTW tinman, despite what you seem to believe, in my opinion the skies here are not "Oiler blue", simply blue. The Oilers were Houston's old team, and they no longer exist. None of the players on the Titans hold any special place in my heart. Vince Young grew up here just like thousands of other football players. The fact that he got drafted by Butt Adams means nothing to me. I don't hate him for that. I DO, however, dislike him simply because people like you and seemingly every single person on sportstalk radio WON'T SHUT UP ABOUT HIM! He is not some Ubermensch superhuman. He is not perfect. Heck, he couldn't even throw more TDs than INTs last year. As far as I'm concerned, if you say you're a Texans fan but you wear a VY jersey to the game, you're not a Texans fan. You're a VY fan. A fan does not say "I root for them unless...." or qualify their adoration. They root for their team (or individual) regardless. Hence the basis of the word "fan" ("fanatic"). Vince Young is a Titan, and there's no point crying about "what might have been". It's pointless. I know this post will not actually do anything, but I wanted to get it off my chest.
