You can pick the Oilers uniform for the Titans on Madden 08!

The Rockets didn't have that marketable of players in 1994 & 1995. I don't need the outside world to give a **** about Houston sports teams. I prefer that they don't. I like being an outsider.

Austin loves the Spurs, Cowboys and Titans. What a wonderful piece of crap that place is.

    VYOF = YOF

    TEXT OF PROCLAMATION

Texas pride rose to a new level after the University of Texas won the 2006 Rose Bowl game and the National Collegiate Championship. But Houston pride rose even higher when our very own Vince Young led them to that victory. Vince Young has been celebrated by many, and was recently proclaimed by former NFL safety Ronnie Lott to be "the greatest quarterback to ever play college football."

Born in Houston in 1983, Vince Young learned how to overcome obstacles at a very early age. He was only seven years old when he was struck and injured by a car while riding his bicycle in the street, causing him to be hospitalized for several months. Tougher from the experience, Vince Young went on to greatness. He was named Parade's and Student Sports' National Player of the Year while playing starting quarterback for Madison High School, honored as one of three finalists for the 2005 Heisman Trophy, and became the first and only player in NCAA I-A history to pass for 2,500 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in the same season.

Vince Young is a tremendous football player for the Texas Longhorns, but he is also a tremendous person. He volunteers much of his time at schools and in youth programs, helping and mentoring children of all ages. Vince Young is an inspiration to all Houstonians, both young and old.

Therefore, I, Bill White, Mayor of the City of Houston, hereby proclaim January 10, 2006, as Vince Young Day in Houston, Texas.

I believe that he does...I just don't see it in action. I wrote in another thread about their summer caravan they did through Central Texas a couple of years ago. It included such star power names as Sloan Thomas (I know he went to UT, but he never made the Texans), the backup deep snapper, a couple of other random backups, and the trainer. Yeah, that's going to bring out the crowds.

I thought it was (and continues to be) a terrible idea to have training camp in Houston. Some of my fondest memories growing up were of going to San Marcos to see the Oilers training camp. Why not have at least 1 camp outside of your homebase...if only to help build a stronger fan base? Why do you think the cowboys go to SA? It's not because it's such a great place to be. it's because they get thousands from all over central Texas to go to meaningless practices in the Alamodome.

Oh, tinman, we'll see who has the better record at the end of this season. I'm a UT fan and I hope for the best for VY as a person. But he plays for the enemy now. Not only are they Buttface Adams team, they're in the Texans division. I hope he runs for 1,000 and throws for 3,000...and that the Titans go 0-16.

There's some pretty horrible marketing people at the Texans office. I mean, the Texans don't do crap. Vince is always around town winning new fans.

You know what team had the best marketing back in the day?
    The Raiders,
instead of having their players market their stuff, they get some dudes to wear their caps. Like Ice Cube and Easy E and Dr Dre. Next thing you know, half the country is wearing Raiders caps. I remember all the kids in Houston wearing Raiders caps.

I haven't owned any gaming system my entire adult life. Haven't owned any type of electronic game since the fourth grade.

I might go buy this thing just so I can see the Oilers uniforms.

As a throw-in, does Madden '08 left you spike Bud Adams's head on the concrete like a rotten watermelon? That would be the icing on the cake.

By the way--the throwback Oilers unis should be for the Texans, you know--the team that plays in Houston. Screw the Titans, screw Neckville, and screw Bud Adams.

    Exactly.
They would be wise to learn from the Rockets and Astros. The Astros market well here, brought minor league here, etc.
The Rockets hold training camp here time to time (all was good until duncan landed in sa).

The Texans even started with a clean slate and have done nothing. Its hard to become a fan, I'm trying but they don't make it easy.
