    Thanks, I needed that... ;)

My point exactly. Seems like any attempt at a rational discussion of the 2007 Texans always degenerates into a Vince Young hissy-fit. I didn't see him on the field yesterday at QualComm Stadium so it's safe to assume that he was a non-factor in the Texans' game. At this point in time both factions on the VY debate are so entrenched in their positions that neither side is interested in anything more that shouting at the other which they do time and time again with gusto. It's like being trapped in a "Who's Afraid of Virgina Wolff" movie.

I have to disagree. First of all, whenever Schaub has a bad outing, the talk here always inevitably turns to David Carr i.e. how much he sucks, etc. with the implication being that Carr would be much worse so Schaub is really OK. The next rationalization always concerns Mario Williams-Reggie Bush-Vince Young and goes along the line of: Mario may suck but so does RB or VY's QB rating is pathetic and on and on so in the end, we are really better off with the suckiness that we have now in Mario than what we would be with the suckiness that we passed on (RB & VY).

Thank You! My Monday is now complete... ;)

I suggest that you talk to my wife before you make that determination.

That may indeed be the case for some. But that draft is a part of our history, and for some (me, for sure) whenever it comes up I discuss it. Not to prop up Schaub or Mario but just because it's another part of our history. I don't think one can ever cram every person into one category.

    Whats wrong??

    Half assed coaching.....
Lack of focus (falls on coaching)....
    Lack of preparedness (coaching).....
    No gameplan (coaching)....
    WTF playcalling (coaching)....
    Team attitude (coaching)...

    Other reasons:
Terrible DB's that wouldnt start for the XFL, Canadian, or Euro league.
Big and slow RB's that hit holes worse than a virgin.
6 straight years of a patchwork O-Line that cant block for ****.
    Special teams mistakes and miscues.
    Dumb penalites.
    No depth.
    Awful draft mistakes.
FA pickups that have sucked (usually big, old (35+), and couldnt play for any other team in the NFL).

sad thing is i really like VY and think he will become great and it does have that "it". But he isnt great now (he is actually fairly average) and that "it" really hasnt done whats making the titans a solid team. Sorry to burst the bubble, but it is true and trying to argue other is fairly pitiful...especially the constant repeating the same W-L stat (especially being applied in football which is really worthless). It's short sighted and ignores way to much, but i guess thats what its like to have blinders on :)

What is scary is when he does actually start playing well (and he will some day) and all those stalled drives that the FG kicker has to finish off, will start turning into 7.

Really, it's their kicker who has the "it" this year and saving their butts.

What are the titans strengths? Coaching, Defense, Sp. Teams,.....then offense is somewhere at the bottom.

As long as people are talking about the titans, I can't believe they are 5-2 at this point. He won't get it, but if the titans make the playoffs, Jeff Fisher should get coach of the year. He's working magic this year. That team is always ready to play, unlike ours.

Jeff Fisher is the best coach in the NFL. Period. He's the main reason the titans are where they are right now.

Why couldn't Bud have just left him here when he left?

Agree. Why has this team come out so completely unprepared to play for past 4 games? That onus has to be on the coaching staff. They were caught flat-footed by Tennessee's defense and appeared yesterday to have no clue on what to do both offensively and defensively.

Please don't sugarcoat it, go ahead and tell us how you REALLY feel... :)

Well if the Texans would have drafted Vince Young or got another QB to start that year via draft or free agency, the Texans would have 2 more 2nd rd draft picks and not have Carr's dead money this year. Not addressing that Carr was part of the problem a season sooner cost the Texans 2 potential players.

Babin and Pburnt trades each cost the Texans players. I keep hearing that the Texans need more playmakers, but I think the Texans just need more players to see if they have playmakers. The Texans need a lot.

Surely you're kidding me. 10 carries for 64 yards and no touchdowns, and you're talking Reggie Bush smack? Seventh round pick Adimchinobe f'n Echemandu carried 10 times for 62 yards. Echemandu must be the future of this franchise... he's going to TRANSCEND THE GAME!!!!!!!!!

I watched the Texans game (or most of it) yesterday at a sports bar where a lot of Saints fans were watching their game. There was a play where New Orleans sent Bush in motion to overload the same side as Colston and the slot receiver. SF had the corner on Colston and the Nickelback on the slot receiver. The corner was obviously confused about who he needed to cover, went up after Bush before returning to Colston. Bush was open on the outside, Colston was relatively open underneath, and Brees hit Colston for a 1st down. I thought the announcers weren't going to stop praising Bush for his decoy job. Forget that Brees didn't throw it to Bush with more space than Colston. It was Bush's greatness that caused the SF corner to blow his assignment.

    What's wrong?

What's wrong is they don't win. There are lots of reasons why they don't win. They have injuries...they don't have an effective running game...they turn the ball over too much...they seem to rarely pressure the QB...they rarely get takeaways....faggins at the corner...safeties...offensive line problems...coming in to games looking completely unprepared to play.

I don't know how long the leash is on Kubiak. McNair is a VERY patient and loyal person, so it's probably longer than I'd think. But if this team ends up winning 6 games or so this season, I think Gary's on the hot seat for next season. If he doesn't have this team at .500 by next season I can't imagine he's long for this job.

And then we'll get to start all over again.

Personally, I'm finding I suck as a Texan fan. I'm sincerely trying!!! But apparently that can't be forced. My interest wanes big time. I must be in the minority because they've sold out every seat and there's a waiting list for season tickets.

While I agree your posts were requested/provoked, what you gave is by no means "the truth". It's your quite arguable opinion, supported by some facts (with others conveniently left out).

Ummm....the now is messed up because they don't have enough quality players. The reason they don't have enough quality players is that they try to put all their eggs in one basket over and over again and that basket has proven to suck.
