While I enjoy the redundancy all over again (no really, I repeatedly do), do you have any thoughts on the actual issues addressed, or do you want to continue to recite the record (for which the defense and running game are pretty much exclusivly responsible this year)? The Titans are 4-2 this year. Put VY in a Texans uni and "he" is 3-5, or maybe 2-6 this year. Because teams win football games.
did anyone who criticizes the titans actually watch any of the games? this game was 'the worst' vince young game, but people who saw they game: 1. figured out he wasn't 100% back from his injury 2. Young didn't get much help. A pass interference call wiped out a 44-yard gain, and three receivers dropped passes that could have been TDs. this reminds of the people who criticized me when we got Juwan Howard. They were just stat googlers, OH JUWAN AVERAGES 17PTS/GAME!!! 1. I shut them haters up, Juwan never came close to averaging 17pts on the Rockets 2. wasn't even starter material, now he's gone for an international guy People who watch are people who know. that's all. Besides, if VY was on the Texans, he'd be running for his life every single play. His Momma don't want see that!
Not to derail the thread, but VY has been a very small part of their success this year. He is not a good QB. He can develop into a good QB, but without a great D and a solid rushing attack, Titans would suck just as bad as the Texans. VY looks more like a Trent Dilfer or Rex Grossman, just don't lose the game.
Opposing teams must now know that they need to blitz or show blitz on passing downs against the Texans to force the three step drop and quick throw. Even in the preseason, once the opposing defense got to Schaub, it was three stop drops from then on. The only way to stop the blitzing is to make the opposing pay on a consistent basis. The Texans have not done that.
Wrong. VY isn't a turnover machine like Grossman, he doesn't make bad reads, bad throws sure. If you watch the Bears game you see Greise throw the ball into double coverage against the Lions and get picked. VY threw the ball to wide open receivers in the end zone vs the Raiders and they dropped them. Good passes too. No Drew Bennett and Bobby Wade = less effective VY passing to some extent, you can same the same for Shuab, no Andre Johnson = Texans getting blown out
It sure is. If you want to win, don't you think you ought to figure out *why* the winners have won? It ain't because of VY.
Didn't he get knocked out of that game? Look this is a tired argument..... The Texans need to concentrate on what they can control to get better. DD
Who argued Rosenfels/Schaub were better? We don't have time from Strawmen; we're too busy arguing about the Titans on a Rockets fan board!
Fumble and INT still hurt just the same. And based on his numbers this year, it's not like he would have contributed anything better the rest of the game. I agree! In fact, the Texans are (though the merits of their concentrated efforts are debatable). Perhaps we fans should do so as well.
great game against the Saints. good game against the Colts. bad games here and if-y games here. its a long season. + lendale white turning into a good back. + defense is way better than last year.
He got knocked out and Kerry Collins came in and had their lone TD drive of the game. If he had played more, they might have won that game.
Huh? Why are you changing the discussion? You said that aren't losing because of V. Young...I gave you stats that prove they have lost this season because of him. Don't start bashing Houston teams and players now because I made a comment about your Tennessee guys. How are your Memphis Grizzlies going to do this year, by the way? Are you singing this song in anticipation? <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XrT0gAbRqyw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XrT0gAbRqyw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
unless they send an all out blitz and leave the middle of the field wide open. I wonder what was the last team that did that? hmmm
