Once you get to the cap, then you have the mle.

BMoney- I thought if amare walks they will only have 41m committed to salary? Like you said, maybe dirk rejoins nash in phoenix or boozer goes there.

They don't. The MLE is only for teams without cap space.

Boozer is interesting. He may actually be an upgrade from Amare
He at least pretends to play defense.

Amare said there is a 50-50 chance of coming back to Phoenix.

Baron took less to go home and attempt to play with brand. They could ride the nash-dirk train for 3 more yrs and use the mle to sign someone like travis outlaw and they could do what they did this yr. I dont think they can win a title with their style, but if they get dirk, thats replacing talent with talent.

In reality, Amare, Bosh, Boozer and Dirk all play on the same level defensively.....below average. Amare gets singled out because he has all the tools to be at the very least good on the defensive end.

Suns were the best of the worst this year in the west, due in part to good fortune/health. With Houston, Portland, New Orleans, and Denver all returning healthy next season, PHX is toast.

They need to blow it up.

He is probably the best rebounder out of the group and is definitely the most physical. That said, he's just not a good defensive player at all. since these guys all play defense well below average, it really leaves it open to interpetation. You wouldn't be wrong in thinking Boozer is the best out of the group. If someone put a gun to my head that is who I would go with first. I'd actually take Amare over Bosh and would rank Dirk fourth.

I think Bosh is the best team defender of the group. Boozer is stronger and tougher than the others so his post D is much better. Also, Boozer and Bosh are much better rebounders than the other two (obviously, part of defense).

I'm a very calm person and I'm not a fan of either the Mavs or the Suns but Dirk and Amare make me scream at the television.

I don't. Bosh is a great offensive player but he's terrible on defense. He's a good athlete but not a great one and he isn't strong physically. Boozer actually probably makes the best of his situation since he is undersized. Dirk is completely worthless on defense. He's got the strength of a 2 guard. Amare just doesn't put forth the effort. The only reason I rank him over Bosh is on occasion he will play to his talent level. Bosh just doesn't posses the physical attributes to be a good defender. He is second to Dirk though in basketball IQ.
