    Frankly, I'd be pretty happy if this offseason was comprised of:

    Barnes/Petrius for most/all of the MLE (I think it's most critical we get that long athletic wing)

    Giricek for league minimum (what he earned this year i believe)

    re-sign Landry

    As much as I'd like to upgrade PG, I don't see us bringing in anyone better than Alston.

    Barnes/Petrius would allow us to basically play Tmac at point forward, with Jackson and Barnes/petrius.

    Have you checked to see which teams will be under the cap this summer and can offer more than the MLE to free agents?

    I think I'd rather bring back Clarence Weatherspoon than take on Vince Carter's awful contract. UGH.

    If Ron Artest is a great player that's poison for a team, Shawn Marion is a better player that's a mild allergen to a team. And while I'd love to have Marion, if he really wanted to be the third option on a contender and take less money to do it, why would he have wanted out of Phoenix?

    WOW. Now THAT'S a project. Umm... let me get on that over the next few days?

    for , ~$770k, Mutumbo is a steal. We should re-sign him as an emergency backup/team leader/cheerleader , and also sign a younger promising centre

    Can you imagine us trading, bjax + head + draft pick or instead of the draft pick throw in steve francis for the grizzles for Mike Miller? Wow that would be amazing, save us some cash and it would be nice for them as they have some expiring contracts.

    Then with the MLE we could get corey meggatie? damn

    Pg- Alston
    Sg- Tmac
    Sf- Mike Miler
    Pf- Scola
    C- Yao

    Bench- Corey meg, laundry, brooks, novak.... We would def have a chance for a ring with that lineup. Corey could take alot off tmac's shoulders, and mike miller would def be a amazing pickup

    See, NOW you're thinking. Memphis is definitely going to be keen on some of these expiring deals as they dump contracts to sell/move the team, er, rebuild.

    Something tells me Steve Francis won't be traded. I don't know what; it's just a gut feeling. I think they're going to allow him to attempt to make a comeback after the surgery. If after that it's a failure, yeah, trade his contract. But in the offseason, I just don't think his contract is going anywhere.

    There's a salary cap and a salary floor. Memphis is going to have to carry some salary; and I'm guessing the GM's weren't too happy about Memphis giving Gasol away. There may be some pressure for Memphis to make legit moves.

    I'm all for this, but am not sure this will work.

    You think? I mean, the ownership seems to be trying to acquire good draft picks, overseas acquisitions, and expiring contracts in order to make the team attractive to potential buyers. Honestly, the Grizzlies failed in Memphis. And Vancouver. And they'll probably fail in whatever city they decide to move to...
    unless it's Seattle?

    Actually... I like that idea. Clay Bennet steals the Sonics from Seattle, the Grizzlies move to Seattle and change their name to the Seattle SuperSonics. They have ridiculous cap space, the rights to the second best player not in the NBA (with Ricky Rubio being #1), an an emerging Rudy Gay. Hmm... Not bad.

    Nah, it'll never work.

    I agree we need another scorer and honestly, if everyone was healthy for the entire season, I'm good with what we have...But that's not reality...
