Why you guys count on Bonzi to do anything but hump fat chicks while claiming to be on emergency leave is beyond me. Forget Bonzi, who needs him He won't even be a 3rd option on this team and that won't get him the pay day he thinks he deserves from his next team. He will sulk like a mofo.

On your lineup projections, if Deke and Hayes are on the team you can not play them together. That's why Hayes started last year, they couldn't have him in the game with another poor offensive player like Deke.

We sorely need Rafer Alston on this team. If he stays here, which I hope he does, he will be starting. If you guys think we don't need Rafer Alston then you will see after the first couple of games why we need him unless Brooks plays. We need an unselfish PG on this team by any means necessary. We have plenty of talent now and I don't see why Rafer can't fit into this team. He should play between 20-25 minutes and start to get our offense going(Yao scoring early, Tmac being set up) unless James or Francis miraculously learn how to play an effective PG then Alston is a keeper. James and Francis still have value on this team as backup PG/SG but Alston has more value since he is the only PG along with Brooks on the roster.

Ok he's my thought: I hope Rafer is not traded. I really think he will thrive under Adelman's offense...it's the perfect offense for him and i can see him initiate a lot of fastbreaks and getting easy points. Under JVG, his ability to do fastbreak is pretty much crippled but imagine him playing along with Mike James and Bonzi and doing fastbreak....man that's going to sick.

Now because we have Francis now...Rafer can come off the bench with Mike and Bonzi. But really, it depends who's playing well and it's up to Adelman to play the right combination of players. If we can keep all the players, we should.

IMO, Rafer and JL3 are both gone for picks.

Well resign either Deke or Hayes but not both.

    We'll end up with this:

Yao/Butler/Deke or Hayes-(inactive unless something happens to Yao/Butler)
Scola/Landry/Reed/Novak-(inactive unless something happens to Scola/Landry)
    Battier/Snyder
    T-Mac/Wells/Head
    Francis/James/Brooks

I'm guessing Adelman goes 9 deep during the regular season:

    Yao/Butler
    Scola/Hayes/Battier
    Battier/Wells/T-mac
    T-Mac/Wells
    Francis/James

Snyder/Landry/Brooks fill out the 12 man and get spot minutes when necessary.

    Reed/Novak/Deke get semi-permanent inactive status.

mike bibby wasn't a true PG. terry porter wasn't a true point guard.

i dont think steve or james will have that big of a role when tmac and yao stay on the floor. tmac, when he is on the floor, i believe will still be the main ballhandler.

but james/francis will get their shots in (ala 9-11 per game)

Ok i change my mind...Rafer and Snyder should be gone? Man, this is confusing. I definitely think SNyder should be gone....fool is sloppy in the Playoffs. The reason i don't think they should trade any of the backcourt is because you never know who's going to shine and who's not...what if some of the players you keep don't live up to expectation?

    Reed will be gone mate,
i don't know why you even mention his name.

    The starting line-up should be:
    Yao, Scola, McGrady, Bonzi, SF3

With McGrady playing pg on offense and SF3 as the 2-guard.

    I definitely keep Snyder.

    1) He is versatile, can play the 2/3 position.

    2) Good energy guy. Good for spot minutes. Next to Battier, probably our best energy defender at the swing positions. Next to T-mac, our only SG with size.

    3) He's always been a fringe rotation player. I think this can't be overvalued. He is not going to bark over lack of minutes, so he is ideal for an end of the bench role.

Because we have no clue how the chemistry with this team will work out, and we don't know which guys will play well together, I see no reason to trade Alston right now. Sure we may be able to trade for more now than after the season starts, but we should let them have played some during camp to figure out which of our 2 potential starting PG's would work best as starter and coming off the bench. Come on, wouldn't a starting 5 of

    Francis, McGrady, Battier, Scola, Yao

with a your 2nd unit being...

    Alston, James, Bonzi, Hayes/Landry, Butle/Deke

be awesome. There is no need to trade Rafer right now.

I completely agree with trading JL3, Novak & Reed. Head I'm unsure about, but if we can get a 1st round pick, sure.

Alston though is a known commodity right now, more so than James or Francis. Why trade him now, and then come December realize that we shouldn't have let him go for whatever reason.

The key is, we now have players that will PUSH other players. Especially at the point. Not that anyone has to look over there shoulders just that there is TRUE competition for minutes now. Bring your A game or sit down. I think BROOKS is gonna be the players that drives the older cats crazy! Being young and hungry will make him work hard an in turn make those above him with the credentials work even harder. This is gonna be MAD fun to watch come the regular season. Plus now we have a coach that I have the confidence in that will MAKE ALL the piece's work. Not just his select 5 or 6.

Man, I wish there way a way to get Snyder more PT. He's been a 15-16 pp40min player throughout his career and that number could probably go up if he could just see some real floor time. Ah well, *shrugs* depth kicks ass!

This really all depends on if there will be anymore moves made to the roster, which i expect more good things to come. Also the initial starting lineup vs toward the end of the reason and playoffs

Initially I think here would be the lineup

Alston/Tmac/Battier/Hayes/Yao - just to see the "last year's lineup" fare in Aldeman's system.

toward the mid season, i expect could of moves that will ship Alston out.

SF/Wells/Tmac/Scola/Yao, if wells get into shape, if not James/SF/tmac/Scola/Yao

    In clutch time:

    Tmac/SF/Battier/Scola/Yao

I'm really excited. and the thing i like the most is that even if T-mac has some games were he has to rest we now have the creativity to still compete with every team.

    I think it will be
    Francis
    T-mac
    battier
    Scola
    Yao.

And james as a spark of the bench.

I also think Alston will be gone. hopefully for a PF.

Man this has been a good week :D :D

This gets my vote too Xman. Battier needs to stay in the starting lineup. What I'm excited about is that this team now has more than two people who can create their own shot.

Biggest question, will these guys mesh? You can have all the talent in the world and still have a mediocre team.
