My thought right now is that this season is messed up from the get go because of the lockout, and not really salvageable. Bringing in a center for 1 year, even if it helps us win some more games, doesn't serve much of a purpose long term. I haven't been this disinterested in the short-term success of the Rockets in a very long time. I'd prefer we just see what we got with the current players, even if its ugly, and set our sights on what is apparently supposed to be a very good draft class next summer. Pick up another 1st round pick if possible and shed salary so we can retool after the season.
When you're in this bad a situation after getting completely screwed over, I think it's probably a good idea to stand pat UNLESS a good offer comes along that follows the whole rebuild whiles winning strategy. Though considering how difficult the strategy is, I doubt a good deal will come along any time soon. PPat will probably get the next most minutes out there in comparison to Jordan Hill and Thabeet at the 4 and 5. Scola will obviously get the most.
Well spoken, and exactly how I feel. Les may not want to lose, but Morey has stated the best way to get better is through the draft, so maybe in the end, Stern did us a favor. DD
I'm actually a little excited to see Jordan Hill start in CENTER on saturday. He definitely has had his moments of brilliance in the past. Its just all about activity with this guy, if his active he'll be productive. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kuj-daW2bc8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Well it's a good thing Morey doesn't make the decisions. I do not want to watch a team suck just so we can get in the lottery. So we get a pick some where from 6-10 most likely. What does that solve? If it really is a deep draft then all the teams are going to get better regardless. So whats the point? The Rockets aren't going to take this year because when we sign Sammy were going to be a top 6 team in the west. BOOK IT
I think with minutes, thabeet can give the rockets the same thing he did at the end of his rookie yr. The guy in the last 13 games avg about 2 blks and 5 rebs in 20 mins. That's not counting the head fakes and hesitations. I like hill, but he's a 4, not a 5.
Place Mchale with his kneehigh socks at the offensive end, only. Trade 5 on 4 buckets for the permanent black hole on the other (ball goes in and never comes back out). He shoots like 99% FT so you can't hack'em. He can faceguard better than Battier, blind, block shots, and send opponents into the second row, all with..get this... just his CHAMPIONSHIP BLING! He's already salary and under contract. Sure, your thinking he'll get winded maybe get hurt, but you'll see a real contrast in playing style, and not just white legs against black shoes, I'm talk'n bout.
Lakers/Mavericks/Thunder Grizzlies/Spurs/Clippers (with Paul) Blazers (probably) I see all of those teams better than us with Dalembert. That being said, I do think he is a great stop-gap solution...and we could very well make the playoffs as a #8 seed if we choose to sign him. But I still kind of prefer this being a developmental (nice word for tank) year, letting our young guys grow, and hopefully, scoring a top 6/7 pick.

We barley missed the playoffs last year and we had no center. Chuck isn't a center, he played good but had no shot blocking presence. If we had a legit center with sammy I honestly do think we would be the 6th seed. I don't think the clipper even with Chris paul are going to make the playoffs. Lakers, OKC, mavs, memphis, are gonna make it. Spurs, with all the back to backs how good are they gonna be? Honestly, I can't see them being a top seed with the age on there team. They might make the 8th seed. Blazers are ok but I think the Rockets are still better. I think our team is a lot better then people on here give them credit for.
