Kaman is a true 18/10 center. Getting him would be like a dream coming true. But once again, he would not carry us over the top a make us a contender.
Out of Cousan, Omahan and Smith I think they will at least keep one to be the 3rd center behind Hill and Thabeet. Hayes alone shat on all of them put together. Its looking more and morely likely we wont get anyone else. We have the worst depth in the NBA when it comes to the 5. Massive disappointment.
He had the surgery in August. How many months does it usually take to recover from the procedure he had? Not to forget the obligatory, "and so it begins".
Omar Samhan won't be here very long.. he will be in D-League… Greg smith isn't gonna start over Hill and Thabeet… he wasn't even drafted… which 99% of the time means they aren't good, i know there have been exceptions with undrafted guys that have turned out decent and all, but the majority of the time there is a reason.. he too could end up on our d-league team to develop him.. We aren't gonna go sign Dalembert just because.. plus i heard he turned down Miami's 5mill a year offer… Kwame Brown got 7mill a year, so he's looking to get PAID.. which is why he hasn't been signed.. do you guys really wanna give him a 4 year 32 mill deal?? he averaged 8ppg 8rpg last year… not very impressive.. i'd rather go with Hill and Thabeet, take our losses, clear cap space and get a top 5 draft pick.. Even if we sign Dalembert we will be MAYBE a 6th seed, lose in the first round, not have cap space next year, and have 2 draft picks that are both in the 20's… that would spell MEDIOCRE again next year… but i do expect Morey to try and make a trade mid season or before the season starts.. he knows his job is on the line to deliver
The only way I would sign Dalembert is if it was a 1 year $5-$6 million salary. There is no need to have him here taking up cap space for next year
I keep trying to catch Patrick and every time I see him at the end of practice he's gone within a minute or two. Not practicing, but Rockets staff say it's more precautionary... he feels fine but they're taking it slow. No timetable though, and I would have expected him to be back by now. It did look like he walked with a very minor limp yesterday when he was going to the box office.
He obviously out for the season. Why else would he be going to the box office other than to purchase season tickets to watch the games.
Give Hill, Thabeet, and whomever else is on the roster as a C a chance and let's see what we have. No use in tying up cap space on a stop gap C when we are not contending for a title this year. All these wild trade ideas for a C for this year make no sense. We are keeping our flexibility open so when a real productive C comes available we can get it on it. We tried for Paul and Nene and by no fault of ours it did not go through.
