It probably isn't going to happen, but based on practice and what people have been saying as well as the results of the game yesterday it seems to me he should starting. The sea hawks did it with Wilson. I don't think savage will be as good as Wilson since he doesn't have the track record. Wilson was really good in college. I mean Wilson was 3-4 in taller he was would been the no. 1 pick. Savage might turn out to be terrible, but I think he deserves the chance to start.
This should obvious but I will say it anyway. Matt Flynn and Wilson were in a true QB battle. They shared reps on the 1st team. Savage is playing against 2nd and 3rd team defenses. Keenum was looking like a hall of famer in preseason too.
Too much cash invested in Brock and Tom was facing backups. Give Brock a shot in the regular season first
I hate to say it, but I hope Savage doesnt get a chance to start because if he is starting, that means the Brock Osweiler experiment was a complete failure and he was hot garbage. I cant take the media and Elway saying "I told you so" already...
$37 million gauranteed (#10 for QBs) Can't imagine McNair would be too happy with that amount of money on the bench.
How about we just be happy that we don't have hot garbage for a backup QB knowing many other playoff contenders can't say that. It at least demonstrated that our coaching staff can develop QBs given time.
In Brocks case...7 pass attempts in the first preseason game is all you need to see? Brock may not be the answer but we haven't seen nearly enough. Lets see if they open up the playbook a little more in the next two games and see what he does with that opportunity.
Flynn's contact was for way way less than Brock. $20.5M with $9M guaranteed. Osweiler has $72M with $37M guaranteed. I don't expect much from Brock, but I'd expect even less from Savage. One preseason game is very meaningless.
The man played way more than 3 series, so he allowed to get into a nice rhythm. Some fans be tripping.
