I'm probably going to get crucified for starting this thread but whatever... For some strange reason (or curse) he hasn't been consistent coming off the bench. The few times he has started though, he has actually played well both offensively or a defensively. I thought he played the best defense against Chris Paul the last time we played the Clips and im fairly sure we have not lost a game with him starting. Plus, he's just a great presence on the court and maybe one of the few ppl with the cred to hold some of these guys accountable.. I say he has had enough rest, its the end of the season, start his azz and bench "The Wolverine" ...
No I think it's too late to start making changes that would disrupt our guys. Terry has been use to playing of the bench. I also don't think Terry has played very well since the addition of Brewer and Smith More than likely a great vocal leader come playoff time but I don't think he's prepared mentally or physically to start the remainder of this season
harden brewer ariza jones dmo brewer guards the pg. run it in short spurts, if it's good then try it for half the game
Am I the only one that thinks Dorsey needs to back in the starting 5? His energy will help with the sluggish starts until Howard gets back. And the combo of Jones, Smith, Brewer, and Terry seem to kill 2nd units.
Whilst I agree a change needs to be made, it's getting pretty low on time left for any major changes. I'm pretty disappointed with how this season is unfolding, it's been an amazing effort to achieve what we have and Beverley tries his heart out, but harden is wrecked out there. What is most disappointing is that Brandon Knight, Mcw, Williams, Sessions etc have all found new homes via the trade deadline and I find it hard to understand how we didn't make a major change by acquiring one of these players. I mean carter Williams would do wonders for this team. Still, I am right behind this group and we just have to remain positive. I think if we win one series this year we can consider the season a success. I hope morey makes it a priority to resign brewer in the offseason and find an upgrade at the point. I think terry does offer more than Beverley as a starter but it's getting pretty tight on time to be making adjustments IMO.
Brew has been getting starter min lately and we need at least 1 spark off the bench.. Terry has been with the team all year so i dont get "Its to late to make changes"... Hell it might reinvigorate Bev to up his level of play like when he took Lin starting job.
Too late, though if we lose a few more, maybe McHale's hands will be forced. Dorsey for D-Mo or TJ that is. Beverley getting benched will never happen.
He plays well when he starts because he knows the team is shorthanded and really needs him to be on his game that night. It's what the really good older vets know how to do. However, it's not something they can pull off night after night at their age, especially defensively in the back court.
This. Brewer is 100x the morale booster for the team that we ever thought Bevs was. And he can play. James + Brewer + Ariza + Jones + Dwight (when he comes back) would be a fiercesome starting five that would fire a shotgun blast into the face of every team from the start of every game. It's all because of Brewer; he would make the rest of them play at full potential. Our starters always starting so tepidly is something that the team can't abide anymore.
I didn't think I would say this, but I actually want (?????) Dorsey back in the starting lineup until D12 comes back.
Terry can't defend. He is better than Bev on offense but can't sustain for big minutes. We are pretty much stuck with Beverley as our starting PG the rest of the way.
