Am I the only one who thinks Griffin should be doing more during garbage time? Is it a stretch to think he should have dominated the last 6 or so minutes last night? I mean, let's see some of those "this was the one guy we wanted in the draft" skills, for crying out loud. Give me a just a glimpse...anything. Should he not be able to show us something against Funderburke and Jabari Smith? Am I asking too much?
Rice did perfectly fine last year, and did so while playing hurt all season long. He's for the most part healthy this year.
Rice still isn't healthy. He missed preseason, and he's been missing some practices too hasn't he? It's not just the numbers - he just doesn't look like the old Glen Rice out there on the court. Too tentative, too slow, not enough lift on the jumper. His defense has been fairly solid overall, but he's not showing me the offensive skills that once made him feared around the NBA. I think his feet are still bothering him, alot.
Even the greatest of players have down games. I have seen enough of Griffin in his previous garbage time to realize that he will be the great rebounder and shotblocker that we think he will. And he shows above average offensive skills as well. I am not worried about Griffin.
I agree - Give Griffin the time to start playing more, so he can develop into a better ballplayer. At least he has the opportunity to become the ball player that CATO will never become. Cato seems pretty content collecting his big fat check and dismiss the rest of his team. He hasnt done squat for the Rockets since his so called 11 blocks game! Really I say put Cato on the bench as the 12th man and let him play the garbage time and let Griffin back up Willis! At least those two makes an effort to do something and try to kick some balls in the hoop rather than "Hey Shaq! you want a basket? Sure go ahead I'll go ahead and start running to our goal!".
I think we may be on to something here. I say incorporate all the ideas. We can play starting center by committee. If it's a team where we can go small ball (like we did against Dallas), then insert The Wiz as the center again. Against teams with a large team (Lakers, Spurs for example) let Cato try to hold down the fort until he gets into foul trouble. For all the in-betweens, give Griffin the start. The problem with starting Griffin as a center, though, is he'll have centers guarding him. Of course, there's a chance that may open the floor up a bit better inside, though. I'm not sure how it would work out, honestly.
A lot better then 5 pts 4 reb and .67 blks per game. Collier might not have all the physical tools, but I dont think he is lacking in desire and passion. Well no one can be comparted to that b*stard CATO! Plus I think he has a decent midrange jumper which should further open up the lanes.
I think Rudy best efforts to be sensitize have not gotten us anywhere. So this is what he should do: Start Willis Break up the 3 spot: Limit Rice to 20 mins, play Thomas there for about 13 mins, and Williams 15 mins. Play Torres more.
QUESTION: why are you not b****ing about Eddie Jacking up threes like you guys did when KT did it? Rocket River
River, if you ask BGM, I have been very outspoken about Griffin's shot selection and his involvement in that play that gets him a wide open three. It is clear to me that the management of Griffin to date has been poor and I blame both coaches and player for that. To be honest, Griffin has looked loss out there to me. But as a young rookie, he needs the exposure. We should sacrifice a few game just to get Griffin, Torres and Tmo or Langhi as much exposure as possible. Do not underestimate the role young talented fresh legs can have in supporting Francis, Mobley, Thomas and Willis. The alternative is bricks from Rice and trashy play from Cato.
Because KT has never shown any real skill at hitting them. And on top of that, he hesitates terribly when he shoots any outside shot. EG has shown a nice shooting touch, and he has a quick release that he rarely hesitates on, leaving no defensive play for the defender.
You have to admit that this year KT has worked hard to learn his limitations. He takes a lot less 3s and is hitting his outside shot with deadly consistency. He seems to have similar range this year as Mo did last year.
