FVV about to be the second $40mil dollar man Houston benches I wouldn’t blame Amen if he got salty and left Houston first chance if we try to bench him multiple years while he’s brother gets to start with a young core. I would understand
Amen is going to get 6th man minutes, plenty of them. Pretty sure the unofficial plan is to trade FVV at next year's deadline. He's the future. Cam needs a wide angle lens. That's a camera joke. He doesn't see the big picture? Eh, I tried. Guy will take every shot and charge directly into 3 defenders and doesn't see the problem. It's cool that you can jump over Doug McDermott but like, just give to the other guy running the break and take the 2 points. The right play is the 2 points. This is why Cam won't play regular minutes. We're not asking for him to become James Harden distributing assists, but like when the defense has committed to you dish it off for someone else to score. Plenty of guys have done that so that he can score. Reciprocate breh. Or don't, sit on the bench and we'll spend the year explaining to fanbois why you don't fit into a team concept.
Amen will see starters minutes or close to it at some point this season even if he’s coming off the bench.
I wanted that after the draft. I said sign shooters like Cam Johnson 40% (3P%), Reaves 40% (3P%), Seth Curry 41% (3P%), Jevon Carter 42% (3P%), Brook Lopez 37% (3P%...would've come here if guaranteed starting gig). Side note: Monte Morris 38% (3P%) [ traded for 2nd round pick ] Reaves should have been #1 choice over Dillon Brooks easily....not 2nd option. All of these players would've provided spacing and driving lanes for Green, Monte Morris, Sengun, Amen, Cam Whitmore, Jevon Carter, Jabari Smith. As is.....VanVleet and Dillon will hardly move the needle in wins. ( from my predicted 34 wins last yr] I have us still bottom cellar and retaining our top pick as worst 4 in the league. Only hope is that you decrease the minutes of Dillon and Vv from 30-something to 24 minutes or less; but then they don't earn their money.
At this point just be happy, they’ll get more minute exposure thanks to KPJ… I want to competitive basketball(wins). I’m ain’t with them coming off the bench.
Lol. I say this as a huge fan of Amen, but some posters are overrating the rookies too much. They still have not played a single NBA minute. Amen doesn't need to start, he will get plenty of minutes this season. He will do much better playing behind FVV and learning from him. Cam should be sent to RGV. He has the tools to be a good player, but his shot selection is poor. He needs to be properly coached
