StarCraft 2, the GOAT game, must get its own thread

I'm having the same issue with lag and I have a Asus G73. I'll try this.

 

i have vista and nvidia geforce 9100 series.

i havent really played any games on this computer besides bejeweled and stuff like that.

 

Ugh, is that a PCI-e video card or is it an onboard video card? If it is, that's the problem. Nvidia geforce 9100 is pretty low end.

 

Just finished the campaign and it was a blast to play through.

The ending wasn't bad since it actually came to some sort of conclusion (though it was a really small one), but it really left a lot of the story to be picked up in the first expansion. I wonder what they're going to do with Heart of the Swarm, especially now since Kerrigan has been returned to her human form. Also, I sort of figured Tychus was up to something, but I was kind of bummed out when it was revealed that he was actually working for Arcturus the whole time. I thought that voice in the intro cinematic sounded familiar. How long do you guys think it'll take Blizzard to get Heart of the Swarm out? I'm guessing it'll be more than a year, but I'm hoping not.

 

its pci. its not integrated. but in saying that i added that "code" to the game and it seemed fix the problem. i still need to clean out the insides though.

OK, finally getting better at it again. I got placed in Gold for 1v1 and was constantly getting bent over initially. I've fought back to a .500 record and a .600 record in 2v2 (though that's in Silver).

Still, everyone in Platinum would destroy me.

What races y'all play? I'm random myself.

 

picked it up yesterday. just been playing co-op vs the computer so far just to get back into it. i build so slow, that and not knowing the maps makes its difficult. gotta step my game up

 

I play as Terrans mostly. I usually play AI skirmishes, co-op with friends, or the occasional team game with friends. Right now I'm trying to go through the campaign on hard difficulty to get the rest of the achievements.

 

anyone playing DOTA in SC2?

 

what are those games called. i didnt see anything called dota.

 

I've been playing in the practice league 2v2 and I've been hovering around .500. Granted I never played the first game so I'm just learning everything now. But seriously I've played most major RTS's and this is the best.

From 4:30 beyond, it's hilarious. It's a progamer beating on scrubs in placement matches in a hilarious fashion.

 

any of you guys know a quick build for the protoss? i like to get carriers, and build a bit of defense to help fend off while i build them since they take a bit, but not having much success. whats a good build to get some units either ground or air the quickest?

 

4-gate Stalkers does pretty well. Or 2-gate Stalkers with a quick Void Ray. Both require quite a bit of Vespene so you'll probably have to expand.

Void Rays are a new air unit for Protoss. Coolest unit in the game, IMO. Costly at 250 minerals, 150 gas though.

The key to micro'ing Void Rays is charging them up. If they attack for a while, they charge up and begin dealing MASSIVE damage but you have to keep attacking to keep 'em charged. A single charged Void Ray can easily take out two uncharged ones. A good way of accomplishing an attack is sneak around the back and charge up on a gas extraction building, then fly into the Probes and let the Void Ray kill 'em, crippling their resource collection.

But the key is really to get one quickly before the opponent gets any air defense. If you're playing against Terran, the strategy's pretty much a dud because a single uncharged Void Ray goes down rather easily to Marines. 4-6 charged Void Rays pretty much bend things over, though.

 

Fully charged void rays are unstoppable... well... almost unstoppable.

 

anyone playing this? wanna team up? i'm terrible, might be able to save a few replays and learn from someone.

 

you're really good at making carriers. very useful talent toi have.
