Do you have a PC? If you do, you can probably upgrade that card for not much money at all and install it yourself.

The minimum requirement for a PC is a 6600 GT. The 8200 M isn't all that powerful a video card anymore. It should be able to run it just from looking at the nVidia video card hierarchy, but don't expect it to be great. Go check Starcraft forums and see if there're others running it.

New egg has some upgrades that will get you in the right range for about $50 but that is the low end of it.

Here is the Requirements page http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/forum/topic/13501357?page=1

Woops. I misread the chart I was looking at - I was looking at the 8600 not the 8200. I wouldn't buy it to run on the 8200 M. :(

The game is great if you love the RTS genre. The campaign is very well thought out and it eases you into the game if you aren't familiar with the series or RTS games in general.

I would recommend this game to anyone unless you hate RTS games of course.

Kind of strange. Love strategy games, yet never played this, so getting settled in with the campaign for now.

Would I be able to run it?

    I got a NVIDEA Geforce 6150 LE.

    1 GB of ram.

    3800+ AMD Athlon Processor.

My pc is complete crap, so I doubt it.

Definitely missing out, esp. if you're an RPG buff, as starcraft has one of the best stories out there. Some of the stuff seems ripped off from Dawn of War/Warhammer 40k (i.e. Zerg and Tyrannids, Terrans and Space Marines), however the story can stand on its own and the gameplay is amazing. If you don't mind crappy graphics I suggest you play the original and the expansion first. II won't make that much sense if you haven't played I and broodwar. Jim Raynor looks like he gonna be an emo kid here, and its hard to appreciate that if you didn't meet the "Han Solo" version of him in the previous game.

Compared to Warcraft 2, how difficult is this game?

This guy obviously sucks at this game. Non groundbreaking? No other game has a meta-game / strategic complexity as starcraft.

So how are you guys liking it?

Feels a bit too much like the original for me, esp. not a decade's worth of change. The only noticeable improvement for me is the larger capacity per squad.

Still, the single-player's been really nice, though I know it's practically a one play-through affair. I don't know if I'll ever survive Terran multiplayer without medics.

There are achievements you probably won't get the first play-through, though. Some people like and want those achievements (GAMER POINTZ!!!), so there is some replay in the single-player. There's also a set of challenges and achievements tied to skirmishes with the AI, too.

I've done a little single-player and a little multi-player. The single-player is been mostly easy thus far, but the multi-player is wholly confusing at this point. I appear to suck at the game quite a lot because I have a lot of trouble keeping up with my resources and army at the same time. I suppose I just need practice.

I Hate this new battle.net. I liked how in old battle net you could host and be in channels etc. Also I can't wait for the use map settings games to come put. I miss storm the fort, starship troopers and raccoon city!

I never loved Starcraft, and I can't say I love Starcraft 2 after playing it for a bit - seems like more of the same to me, but then I haven't played Starcraft in years, so who knows - it may be a huge leap. One of the reasons may be because I really don't care about storylines unless it's an RPG. I just want to fire this thing up in sandbox mode and kill stuff.

The only RTS games that I loved were the ooooold but still revolutionary Total Annihilation and its successor, Supreme Commander, and maybe games like Warcraft/Warcraft 2, and AoE. Those games were a blast to play. Starcraft 2 just seems like more of that to me than anything revolutionary.

    I'll still keep playing, though...

i love starcraft and i'm going to buy a new computer as soon as i get the money to so i can play it and the expansions.

word is 18 month between expansions.

Also, they're planning on patching in chat channels. I think its not big enough of a deal for them to delay the game over.

Right now im just trolling teamliquid and watching streams. Game looks amazing so far!!!

If you have time watch TLO vs Tester game 2 of KotB tourney. Sickk... Any TLO games and also the finals and tester vs intotherainbow in KotB tourney were all so sick...

    they're on day9's bliptv i think...
