what did you think about my opening in terms of getting down my first depot and barracks? is getting the barracks down at 9 supply good? getting the barracks at like 11-12 supply good? then refinery around 13 supply and then scanner at like 15. i generally try to keep those things on the regular when i play. sometimes i mess up and forget to do some of it, as you saw in those replays.

also in a lot of the videos i've watched, they say keep your minerals low, but i end of always having a ton of unused minerals, and it seems early, am i making too many workers? mainly because i hear constantly make workers. but its like i end up with a ton of minerals unused.

how do you make sure you have constant supply? i find myself getting in this trap of building like 4 depots at a time sometimes cuz i get supply blocked.

again thanks for the feedback some good stuff there. appreciate it.

oh and one more thing, i dont build a engineering bay early for air defense ie: turrets. thats how i upgrade my marines weapons and armor. hence i get it down early so i can upgrade. i put down 1 or 2 turrets as well in case they throw cloaked guys as well.

Just a quick note to you all...

They are nerfing the siege tank and ultralisk in the next patch...
As well as increasing build times for the Zealot and Reaper to prevent cheesy rushing.

I don't like how they cater to the people that haven't figured out how to counter yet, but whatever...

easiest way to use your minerals/gas is to have more buildings that make troops. between upgrading your air or ground and building multiple units from 3-6 buildings at once you shouldnt have a problem. you just have to stay on top of your supply depots and hot key the buildings to make units fast if you lose some and your gold.

If you had a massive cluster of marines, yes. The upgrading would be effective, but I'm guessing that because you vespene early you might only have maybe 2 barracks at the most churning out marines. Say after getting two upgrades you have maybe 10-14 marines. Effective? Yes, but it's better to have 30 marines with no upgrades than 10-14 marines with just a basic upgrade...

Upgrades aren't worth it till mid to late game. Only stimpack and concusive shells are good early on.

Use the scv that finish the first depot to scout the opponent and figure out what they are going for so you can build to counter.

    Here's my usual build order.

    10 depot
    12 barrack
    13 refinery
16 orbital (Before second depot like in your first replay)
    call mule when done.
    add tech lab to barrack
build 2 more barracks 1 reactor 1 tech lab
    research concusive shell and stimpack

scan the opponent and if I have the better army I push out.

to not get supply block have 1 worker constantly making 1 depot after another around when your unit count hits 23. If you hold shift then B and S, S, S and so on you can have 1 scv make one depot after another.

My opening build is almost the same. I got mine from the Team Liquid wiki, with some slight modifications at times depending on what's happening.

10 Supply Depot (then I usually scout with the SCV)
    12 Barracks
    13 Refinery
    15 Orbital Command
    16 Supply Depot
17 Engineering Bay + Reactor on 1st Barracks
    18 2nd Barracks
    20 3rd Barracks
21 Research +1 Weapons at Engineering Bay
    22 Supply Depot
25 Tech Lab for 2nd Barracks (start researching Combat Shields as soon as you have the resources, then stimpacks and concussion grenades)
    30 Reactor for 3rd Barracks

Once you get the tech lab, you should start building Marauders only from it. Once both the +1 weapons and combat shields are done, I usually scan my opponent and move out (I'm usually between 40-50 supply at this point). Usually after/during the first push I expand and also build factories/starports. So far, I've been 5 for 5 in bronze using this. The biggest thing about this is to keep building supply depots. Since you'll be training 4 marines and 1 marauder at a time, it takes up 6 supply so you'll want to keep your overall supply constantly increasing.

If anyone wants to play some ranked team games let me know. My bnet is s7raf3r@gmail.com. Just add me and tell me you're from CF. Just know that I'm not that good of a player and regularly make mistakes.

I usually do 9 Depot, 11 Barrack, 13 Gas, Orbital soon as the barracks is finished.

If you see yourself with too many minerals build an extra building. Never use just 1 SCV to build as Terran, you'll usually want 1 making depots non-stop to keep up with supply, 1-2 building your tech/defensive structures. If you find yourself supply blocking, and have a little extra money, use shift+b+s so you can queue up multiple depots.

also, to point out, which is prob obvious from my replays, not a hotkey guy for the most part. i know i should prob practice with that, but its actually slowing me down, i find myself looking down to make sure i'm hitting the right keys. i'll keep working on it though

also, someone mentioned i shouldnt build a wall when facing 2 terran, should i wall for zerg and protoss though? i've had this happen numerous times, mainly with toss, where they send a probe to scout, and as i'm following the thing around they start warping in pylons and such. always annoying.

That one reaper replay wasn't really even a rush. You just changed to a your build order since you wanted to wall off. 3 supply depots early on and engineering bay = no no. You could of gotten up 3 barracks and should of already had a couple of units out to defend.

Zerg and Protoss you should wall off since it prevents them from cheesing you. Your main problem is that you don't scout your opponent. If you see the toss player with just 1 pylon or not much in his main base, then you know you need to check around your base for proxy. If you see a stargate, then expect void rays.
