First of all, Shipa are guided by the creatures that fly them. So I look first to weakness or strength of the community fighting. Star War characters are all related. They are less diverse, but more devoted. They would fight to the death for each other. It has also been proven the Star Wars chracters frow stronger in death. So even if Star Trek destroys a destroyer you now have a couple thousand guidance counselors for those who are left. Couselors who are all seeing and feeling.
What would be some classic matchups? Vader and stormtroopers vs the Romulans Yoda vs Q Emperor vs head Borg Mace Windu vs Picard Darth Maul vs Worf Han Solo vs. Riker Qui Gon vs Kirk Jar Jar vs Wesley Crusher (both killed by whatever) Boba Fett vs. Data Leia vs Troi Lando Calrissian vs Geordi Jango Fett vs Spock Luke and Clone troopers vs Klingon Empire

Riker wishes he was Han Qui Gon vs Kirk -- Kirk.. the dude got into a fistfight every episode Jar Jar vs Wesley Crusher (both killed by whatever) -- agreed Boba Fett vs. Data -- Data.. Boba is just some dude in a metal suit Leia vs Troi -- Leia -- she's more hardened than Troi Lando Calrissian vs Geordi -- Lando.. LOL, this match made me laugh. Geordi would get whooped Jango Fett vs Spock -- Spock.. Spock was one tough SOB when he wanted to be Luke and Clone troopers vs Klingon Empire -- Klingons.. Luke was a pansy. The Klingons would capture him and rip out his intestines.
Vader/Stormtroopers vs Romulans-- Vader/Stormtroopers in their prime could destroy any army. PERIOD! Yoda vs Q-- While Q is omnipotent, he would arrogantly underestimate Yoda as he did Picard so many times. Q's arrogance is his weakness. Yoda would milk it! Emperor/Death Star vs Borg/Cube-- Tough one to call I think. If Emperor can use mind control on Borg, control the leader and you control them all. Firefight goes to Borg do to Borg's ability to adjust shields to frequency of blaster fire. Mace vs Picard--/Qui Gon vs Kirk Badass (Windu) with Force/Lightasber vs old fart (Picard) with bad heart and Phaser. Picard used his team to be strong. No team to back him up here. Kirk would kick Qui Gon's butt...agreed. The matchup should have been Mace vs Kirk and Qui Gon vs Picard. Darth Maul vs Worf-- Worf gets some good shots in but Maul uses his dual lightsaber to slice through Worf's weapons like a hot knife through butter. Han Solo vs. Riker-- Jar Jar vs Wesley Crusher (both killed by whatever)-- Boba Fett vs Data-- I would think that an intergalactic bounty hunter would have something with an electric pulse to fry Data's neural net. Leia vs Troi-- Leia after a cloth ripping cat fight is a pool of jello! Lando Calrissian vs Geordi-- Lando would destroy Geordi unless Geordi shuts off the lights. Damn that visor! Jango Fett vs Spock-- Spock would have to get through Jango's armor to do any damage to him. Jango has way to many weapons at his disposal. Luke/Clone army vs Klingon Empire-- Klingons in their prime would destroy anyone but the Empire in their prime.
Why is this a nerdy subject? It's only nerdy in the essence that it mentions star trek. The die hard techies and trekkies vote ST and the rest of us Xover guys vote SW.
I think the geek level of the BBS just spiked off the charts. Star Wars because Picard and Kirk would be distracted by the thoughts of Leia in those skimpy clothes in ROTJ.
That has got to be the dumbest thing I have ever read. . . . well scanned. Why oh why would someone debate a pointless topic. Sure for fun, but I almost thought this was a thesis project or something. Sad, really sad. I dont mind things done for fun, but thats way out of line. . . . . Glad I got that off my chest, now back to organizing my paper collection
Now all the geeks on the bbs have come out of the closet. Star Wars would win, simply because they're cooler and more fun to watch. The characters (at least in the original trilogy) came across as more human, and even as underdogs you could really root for. And Luke was really hot back in the day... I was constantly getting in arguments and having to defend him to all the girls who preferred Han Solo.
The debate isn't about which series is better or more fun to watch, but about which side would win in a fight. Just wanted to clear that up.
i give star trek the edge... the thought of our technology evolving to the point where the acquisition of wealth is no longer the sole purpose of human existence is pretty cool. cooler than the 'force'
