Han Solo and Darth Vader move on to the Sweet Sixteen. No contest. I think it was Lando's first invitation... and it was surprising that Grievous was seeded so low as to have to face Vader. He never had a chance. So uncivilized. They were probably the EASTERN conference of Jedis. Must have been two very tough divisions.
What a horse**** bracket. Solo vs Kenobi in the second round?? MAUL VS. VADER EARLY??? Too many good characters bunched together.
Prediction: no characters from the second trilogy advance past the first round if they're facing a character from the original trilogy anyone cares about.
So I broke it down. Winning the first round will be: Light Side: Solo, Obi-Wan, Luke, Yoda, R2D2, Leia, Chewy, Tano Dark Side: Vader, Maul, Jabba, Hondo, Boba, Jango, Dooku, Palpatine Secound round matchups. Winner bolded: Light Side: Solo v Obi-Wan Luke v Yoda R2D2 v Leia Chewy v Tano Dark Side: Vader v Maul Jabba v Hondo Boba v Jango Dooku v Palpatine Third round matchups. Winner bolded: Light Side: Obi-Wan v Yoda Leia v Chewy Dark Side: Vader v Jabba Boba v Palpatine Fourth round. Winner bolded: Light Side: Yoda v Leia Dark Side: Vader v Boba Championship: Yoda v Vader Winner: Spoiler Yoda
Looks pretty good, although...I could see Skywalker upsetting Yoda -- I could also see R2D2 beating Leia for some reason. Who doesn't love R2D2? If you don't, you probably kick puppies too.
Natalie Portman >>> Carrie Fisher, but Leia >>> Padme. Padme got more weak and feeble with each film, Leia was a G throughout. And Jango Fett should win this one because he was the original Boba. That's the best thing that can be said of Jango. In the next matchup of Boba and Jango though, it should be Boba by a wide margin. I've been right so far except for Cad Bane. Stupid Clone Wars fans. I wanted to like that show but it stinks.
**Bumping this because I'm doing so poorly in March Madness tournament** I was right! Leia beat Padme but just barely, 52-48, the closest of all the first round matchups by far.
Today's match up features Chewbacca on the Light side. We caught up with Chewy a few hours before the encounter and tried to get some insight to his strategy, process, and what he expects to do versus Wicket:
