The Clone Wars animated shorts on cartoon network a couple of years ago were much better than this movie.

The animation was "made for TV."

This would have been much better served as a TV release with a lot of hype rather than a theater release without much hype at all.

    As a movie, its a 6 or 7 out of 10.

If you really want to see Star Wars, go see the original trilogy. It will make you a little sad to see how far the franchise has fallen, how much kid like joy is in your heart as you watch the originals and connect with the characters, then to see this.

I can't call it a total failure, due to the fact that overall, it was mildly entertaining, but Star Wars has really fallen a long way.

You realize he was the "clones" off Jango Fett, right? Made perfect sense.

I thought it was great... but then, I get the movie's place in the SW universe.

It's not supposed to be a "saga" movie... but rather, a "meanwhile" comic book type story.

All of my family liked it.

I think too many negative reviewers expected something other than what it was meant to be. This was not supposed to be the mass appeal live action film they expected... so if going in, they thought that, and got a cartoon... I could see the let down.

Three key actors to the era depicted actually did reprise actual voice over roles. Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu... Christopher Lee as Count Dooku, and Anthony Daniels as C3P0...

Again though... it was not supposed to be like the others...

And aren't you all relieved that Hayden Christensen didn't voice Anakin? :p

No, I thought that the clones were all robots....and not humans....I thought they were being cheap and saving money on Actors.

Also, when was it supposed to have taken place? Because they were referring to Annakin as a Master, and IIRC, he never acheived that rank.

Did you watch the prequels? Boba Fett is a clone as well... hmmm...

He was not given the level of Jedi Master with "Jedi Council" privileges... He was a Knight, and Master though..

SW: I get it. My almost 9 year old son does too ! ;)

You got it mixed up...he was allowed to be on the Council but he was never given the rank of Master; in fact did he ever technically go through the trials (I have yet to see the clone wars mini series so I don't know if I'm missing something)

But he was not a master...

    From AOTC:

    From ROTS:

Rottentomatoes aside, the reviews on Aint-it-Cool have been pretty scathing; and I have to say based on the previews I'm not surprised. Among the criticisms, apparently it's a made for tv movie that's debuting in theaters and it is clearly marketed for children. And then another big problem was that there was no real sense of tension or drama since every one of the main characters' fates have already been determined in other parts of the franchise. Probably will see it eventually, but this is the first Star Wars movie that I haven't been super excited to see.

Anakin has a "padawan" in this film, so from that respect he is a master I guess.

Good point, but then that would contradict things that have happened in the movies of course. Was there even a point in making another Clone Wars series when the sky's the limit for stories in between III and IV or even before I or after VI?

I think a Knight of the Old Republic film/trilogy/animated show would be pretty cool.

I'd settle for a third game from the KOTOR era. (but not the rumored MMORPG)

Knights of the Old Republic is the best story set in the Star Wars Universe. Even better than the movies.

I understand the confusion... it's hard to see it... but Obi-Wan had a Padawan before being granted "Master" status too...
