RIP http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2016/06/19/star-trek-star-anton-yelchin-dies-27/86114886/
Freak accident. RIP he was entertaining in Star Trek. One minute you are living your life just like everyone else and the next minute you are gone and your loved ones get blindsided. Unfortunately this is how death comes for most people.
Horrible. On his way to rehearsals. RIP His performance as Chekov was one of the reasons I thought they couldn't have done a better job of casting the new crew. "I can do zat!" I can do zat!" <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-rPEguSf35c" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
RIP Although I dont think I quite understood what exactly happened given the very brief description of the accident?
i remember enjoying him in Charlie Bartlett and his appearances as Cheryl's cousin in Curb Your Enthusiasm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28XeEZiyOfM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qrtkg5qpp68
Good lord. What a tragic loss for his family, his friends, and for all of us. A real talent, who was perfectly cast in the Star Trek reboot as young ensign Pavel Chekov. He will be hard to replace. May he rest in peace.
I'm trying to figure out how he died. How does your car start rolling backwards on your driveway and be on a collision at the same time.
RIP. Can't imagine how it could happen either. The car must be rolling down the driveway at a ridiculous speed if he didn't see it coming.
He lived on a hill and put the car on Neutral or on Park without the E-brake. This happened at around 130 am so who knows if he was drunk or under the influence of another substance.
For those of you wondering how this could have happened, go look at the pics of his driveway and security gate on TMZ. It's very sad but he got out of his car with it in neutral and then his car killed him with a force so strong it bent his gate. I once saw my Dad do the same stupid thing but his car rolled down a long driveway incline and ended up in the house's front yard across the street. I was thinking while watching it that it was a miracle no one was killed. His car didn't hit anything by some miracle. This guy...not nearly as lucky. Nobody should exit a non-running or running car without it in "PARK" in most situations. It's "Car Driving 101". Not sure what he was thinking? Too many things on his mind I guess. Maybe he was tired? I'm starting to wonder if maybe his car was loosely in "PARK" and slipped into "NEUTRAL"? That would be even more freakish. I don't see how he would have had time to get behind his Jeep without it starting to roll...unless he ran out and then didn't see it behind him coming at him?
Seems to be conflicting info of time of accident. TMZ says his friends found him at 1am, hours after he was supposed to show for rehearsal. I'll go with that. Maybe 1:30am was the time of the police report. Yelchin's friends became alarmed because he was supposed to meet them hours earlier for a rehearsal. They went to his San Fernando Valley home at around 1 AM and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox pillar, which was attached to a security gate. Law enforcement tells us the engine was running when his body was discovered, and the car was in neutral. The driveway was on a fairly steep incline. It's unclear why he got out of the car. http://www.tmz.com/2016/06/19/star-trek-anton-yelchin-dead/
