What should we do this summer?

  1. Sign a max/near max superstar if we miss out on Lebron/Carmelo

  2. Make minor moves and keep flexibility to pursue KD/Elite Superstar next summer/future.

Umm, did you read the whole post or just the poll?

I'm sorry if I came across offensive, that's not at all what I intended. I have seen several people post that they would rather do nothing this offseason so we could try to sign Kevin Durant next offseason...which won't be possible.

I kind of realized that more than anything I just don't want the Rockets to "lose" in free agency.

Possibly, but Kevin Durant hasn't given any indication that he wanted to leave. His emotional MVP speech made it seem even more that he wanted to stay.

But even if he wanted to leave, I seriously doubt we would have the assets to trade for him. Even if we did, I would imagine Presti would be very reluctant to trade Durant to the same team that he traded Harden to (and has been ridiculed about by the media for a long time).

If we were able to have Harden/Durant/Howard on the same team, that would be ridiculously awesome. And I know that Jalen Rose said he thought that was going to happen. But I don't see any way possible for us to trade for him, and his contract is too long for us to wait- especially when we consider that Dwight's prime is most likely rapidly decreasing.

we wont be able to afford anymore big names after this season. in 2016, when durant becomes a FA we wont have the cap space. lets just say parsons sign with us for only 8 mil a yr (most likely its gonna be more) then in 2016 harden is making 17 mil and dwight making 23 mil and parsons making 8 mil (fingers crossed) it would add up to 48 mil total in cap space, leaving us with only 15 to use. no way durant only taking 15 plus even if he does then we have no other players. the only way i see durant in rockets jersey in 2016 is if we trade parsons to clear cap space. idk if they are willing to do it even though they should. id be pretty sad tho cuz parsons was here from his day 1 and we trade him away to become a superteam

I dont agree with doing absolutely nothing and waiting until the deadline or next offseason. Why waste another year of Howard and Harden? Nothing is guaranteed in sports. Penny, Grant Hill, Yao, McGrady, DRose/Barkley, Malone, Stockton are examples of this. Win, and win big when you can.

Im not saying the Rockets have to catch a big fish but, they need to improve the roster anyway they can. Right now there is a glaring hole at TEAM DEFENSE and PG. You patch that up with quality talent and get better as a team. Why sit and hope someone chooses to be on your team a year from now? Its wasteful

IMHO our third superstar should be some one who has won a title already. I'm in favor of signing LBJ or Bosh this summer. I think Melo would be a great addition only if the Chris Broussard"s rumor got lit and and everybody started smoking it. If you add Melo you need a alpha dog pg to keep everyone happy. If you add just LBJ he becomes your Point Forward and James and Dwight bow down and LBJ becomes your Alpha Dog.

Outside of that I think we should wait on or trade for Rondo.

ok. name me some peices that we need to 'build' around them
and how we going to get them?

    Let's play small ball . . . . .
Who are these pieces we missing?

Since no Love, melo, Bosh or LeBron

who is our low price small ball answer at the 4?
Since we staying pat .. means no Rondo I guess. . . .
The Lin Beverly platoon is not optimal
