Stan Van Gundy agrees with his brother Heat will be great (mention of Wade as Pippen)

If this has already been posted, my mistake, but I did not see it.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...rees-with-his-brother-loves-th?urn=nba-263604

"If I look at what the Bulls did winning 72 games and I look at the Heat roster, I am going to tell you that the Heat roster is better than any roster that Michael Jordan played with with the Bulls. I don't think that people predicting them breaking the win total and being in the 70s and the whole thing, I don't think those are expectations that are out of line based on their roster ... Dwyane Wade(notes) is certainly, in my opinion anyway, as good as he was, is better than Scottie Pippen. Chris Bosh(notes) is better than Toni Kukoc. Mike Miller(notes) is every bit as good a shooter as (John) Paxson or (Steve) Kerr or anybody they put there. Plus, he's 6′8″. If you start going down the list, I don't think there is any question that the roster the Heat have is as talented a roster if not more so as any roster there has ever been in the NBA."

I find it interesting and refreshing that he actually realizes that LeBron is the best player on that team, and sees Wade as the "Pippen." I think LeBron "Pippen" comparisons have gotten quite ridiculous. It is arguable (hardly), but Lebron is the best player and the most dominant player on that team (and the NBA). It's nice to see Van Gundy agreeing with those of us who feel this way :).

By the way, I'm non-biased. I'm a HUGE Rockets fanatic and Idolized Hakeem growing up. I just call it how I see it, and the people saying Wade is "Jordan" and Lebron is "Pippen" are, in my opinion, just wrong, and I think the upcoming season will prove that. I will come back to this post and eat crow if I'm wrong.

I do think that LeBron is the best player in the league. I think if you put him on that Lakers team last year, instead of Kobe, they hardly lose a game lol. I mean, it would be ridiculous. The Cavaliers team assembled around him was NICE, but not "special." And they may have even won it had they not run into a crazy motivated and damn damn good Boston team this year that really showed up in the playoffs.

It's funny because a few months before the playoffs it was WIDELY agreed that LeBron was the best player in the league. Everyone was talking as the majority truly felt this way. Then after the playoffs and Kobe winning a ring, and then Lebron making an a** out of him self with "the decision" (yes, I did not think the decision was smart at all), people start saying how LeBron is overrated.

Honestly, it would have been nice to see him stay in Cleveland. BUT, the guy is 25 years old, and went down to play in Miami with some of his best friends, and try to win a few titles, even taking less money, as everyone said he would never do. You know what, I can't blame him! Hell, I admire the actual "DECISION", I just didn't like "the decision". It took guts to do what he did, people are always afraid of the change, but he embraced it, to have fun, play with friends, and win rings!! That's what matters to him. Life is too short and we only get to live it once, and LeBron just happens to have FUN a lot and joke around. People see this as a "fault", but how can you fault that lol. Why be serious all the time (which this is somehow the reflection of a true champion and someone who cares about the game).

I remember that article when they talked about him walking around a casino and acting like a "kid" because he kept pulling up for fake jumps shots all over casino and acting like he was playing the game. Uhhh, well, honestly, that kinda goes to show that he is obsessed with basketball. Even on his vacation, he still thinks basketball 24/7, but is playful enough to also have some humor about him.

I will come back here and eat crow if I'm wrong, but I think LeBron takes home the MVP again this upcoming year, AND a championship ring.

They don't have a Phil Jackson. No 72+ wins.

Insinuating that Wade is going to be LeChoke's sidekick is pure head games.

SVG must be wrong. He may be an NBA coach (and Wade's former coach), but goodbug told me that Lebron was going to be the Pippen. I know who to trust.

Its not at all surprising that SVG would say this. The more hype they have, the bigger the target will be on their backs, and the more pressure they'll have. It also allows his Magic team to fly below the radar, like they've done the past few seasons.

Its being built up to where if the Heat don't win a championship, they'll be humiliated. Exactly what SVG wants, I think.

As I said, If LeBron does not win MVP next year, I'll come back here and admit I was wrong. But LeBron is the best player on that team, and before long, will be the leader of it. The only way LeBron compares to Pippen in this scenario is that they are both small forwards.

Does anyone seriously think the Heat would have won their championship with Pippen instead of Wade? Of course Wade is better than Pippen.

Phil doesn't even check in until the conference finals. The 72 wins was all Jordan.

Lebron seems more like a Pippen. Kind of the all around player like Pippen. Bosh seems like the Horace Grant. Scoring and rebounding. Wades just short of Jordan and there is no Tony Kukoc, Steve Kerr, and Dennis Rodman as of yet.

"Megastar" lol, the article is mainly posted because of Stan's opinion that D Wade will be the "Pippen" and not vice versa as most people think. I did not post it in Rocket's forum, but rather the NBA dish, so I don't see anything wrong with it.
