[stalking] Yao Sighting

according to the box score at espn.. Yao was flying up here to Chicago to get checked out by the doctors.

Knowing Pryuen for years at Yaomania I doubt it. The dude is rude, inconsiderate, and throws a fit with anyone that is in disagreement with him, Yao related or not. Its too bad since he contribute a lot for both sites... and his eye-roll smily overkill doesn't help the matter much.

1) The Rockets are playing in Chicago tonight

2) My girlfriend calls me at 6:30am to tell me that she sees Yao being wheeled onto her plane... Now I know, pryuen, there are at least two dozen 7-and-a-half foot Asian men rolling around Houston in wheelchairs these days... it's become quite a fad and it's pretty tough to tell which one is the real Yao. I can't tell you how many times I've stopped the wrong wheelchair-bound Yao to wish him good luck in his recovery. Sometimes I even try speaking Chinese to them because, well you know, I'm a little rusty... It's so embarrassing when that happens.

When I put 1) and 2) together, it seemed logical to me that he'd be going to the game... although the Blues Brothers scenario does seem pretty compelling. Yao wants to buy your women! How much for the little girls?

For the record, I did bug her about either discreetly doing the camera phone stalking or maybe asking for his autograph, but that's where she drew the line. She's slightly less of a basketball fan than I am, but I still put up with her.

A Chinese herbalist doctor said he can cure Yao and make him back to the court within 1-2 weeks.

lol, I expect the herbalist will slice open Yao's skin, dab some ointment onto the cracked bone and sew the skin up? Unlikely dude, Yao's knee can only be mended through sheer patience.

Maybe Yao Ming's appearance in the locker room was what triggered the great comeback in 2H of the Rockets.

Not only did the Rockets return to the locker room at halftime having scored just 30 points, they had a reminder of what else was missing with Yao Ming sitting in there.

Yao made the trip to Chicago to see the Bulls' team physician, a specialist in tibial plateau injuries. Dr. Brian Cole confirmed the timetable. The Rockets thought six to 10 weeks to do "active rehab." Cole said eight weeks. Active rehab is when he can get on the court. For now, he is riding a bicycle and shooting free throws while sitting in a chair.

Yao was in a pretty good mood after the game, saying he felt better just to be around the team again. And he did get an entertaining game for his trouble. He raved about McGrady and Dikembe Mutombo. And he offered his most optimistic comment of all.

"Even without me, the team played pretty well I think," Yao said. "I got a lot more confident we can go further when I come back."

It's not a big deal. Pryuen (even with the weird ego/obsession) contributes more to this board than I do.

Oh, and hotballa/nyquil... my gf has all her teeth and a lovely smile... her head is not flat (I have to use a table/cupholder to hold my beer), and there's no way in hell I'd ever post her picture on here. I've been around here long enough to know better.
