I can see some trades that we make where we improve by giving up Mobley. Stackhose doesn't seem to be one of them. He is now with what, his third team . Detroit went to great lengths to discount rumors of his trade, stopping short off singing his praises. Just seems as though you don't improve as much as Detroit did last year and then trade your "go to" guy if there aren't some issues there. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm? Good trade for Detroit for the longterm, I think.

You can read a lot from a trade. The Wizards give up Rip for Stack obviously the Wizards think Stack will be an improvement over Rip. The telling part is the Pistons think that Rip is an improvement over Stack and who knows Stack better than the Pistons.

I would not trade Cat for Rip, and I certainly wouldn't trade Cat for Stack.

There is a reason players like Stack change teams every other season and it ain't cause they are an integral part of the team.

Cat is part of our team, Stack will probably never be part of any team.

    CAT ROCKS!!!!! STACKHOUSE SUCKS!!!!!

Cat has better numbers. He is also younger and developing more each year. I'll take Cat any day.

stackhouse is better because more people know him. also remember when he came out and he was supposed to be the next jordan, well tell me how he can go from that to not as good as mobley.

seriously though, give me cat 10 times out of 10 over stackhouse. on this team i wouldn't even consider trading mobley for iverson either.

Damn right...Mobley is cheaper and fits with the team better. He scores near as much and still has potential to prove as an overall player.

Stackhouse is a little more mature and complete than Mobley at this point. However, Mobley is younger and fits in better with our team.

Why is Stack more complete and more mature than Cat?

I have to say that Stack was nice last year but so was Mobes, and Mobes is younger. I also like the way that Mobley attacks the basket where as Stackhouse is more of a jump shooter although I am in no way insinuating that he is only a jump shooter. And come on, how can you not take Mobes attitude over stack's. I could see an argument going either way but I would personally take Cuttino Mobley thank you very much.

I think more people will recognize Mobley after his performance last season. I have never seen Stackhouse do anything Mobley couldn't do. I'd take Mobley any day. And no I'm not being Biased. Why disrupt the team chemistry with bringing in a player who will do the same thing? I also like Mobleys character and his confidence.

    Mobley.
Just ask Jordan who he would rather have. A young Jordan that is. Jordan in his prime would take Mobley in a heart beat..

Both guys are scorers. Stackhouse is more efficient in scoring though. In career Points per Shot:

    Mobley: 1.229
    Stackhouse: 1.270
    Hamilton: 1.127

Stackhouse knows how to get to the foul line. If you're looking for scoring, he's the one to bring it, despite his lower FG%. Does that mean I'd trade Mobley for him? No.

I haven't even seen anyone mention this yet either (but I was skimming): Mobley is locked into a lowball contract for years to come, while Stackhouse is opting out of a contract that already pays more so he can make yet more. Who would want to get out of a friendly contract with a top-flight SG to get an unfriendly contract with another top-flight SG?

Nice stats but you forgot to mention two numbers:

    Mobley:
    MPG 42.1, Ast 2.5

    Stackhouse
    MPG 35.3, Ast 5.3

Let us make it a fair comparison.

Having said that. I still prefer Mobley to Stackhouse.
However, I wish Mobley can share the ball more.

And you are a minister Sofine81 (make sure your boyfriend GriffIn's name is spelled correctly-- shame on you for an unwarranted attack!)?

Your posts are interesting -- if you recall I cited that one of your posts "had hit the nail on the head" -- but a great number of posters still don't know their team players' names. At least the number of people who spell Griffin's name incorrectly are on the wane. I cast no aspersions at your basketball expertise. But you should respect accuracy.

I do respect accuracy, and Im sorry I attacked you, I just get fraustrated sometimes, I have seen you say the exact same thing to like four or five people, BUT you are right, if we are gonna talk the talk, we at least need to spell it correctly. And please accept my apology.

Honestly I believe we are all alittle bored waiting for the season to start, I think we are having withdrawls :D

Apology accepted. At least you can see I'm not picking on you. One day when he achieves superstardom everybody will spell Eddie's name correctly. Until then, I shall be more careful of sarcasm that was meant to be a lot lighter than it was taken.:)

Nice addition, but it can be offset by the fact that Mobley actually played PG full-time, so give a strong supporting cast Mobley has proven to be a good passer. That would also make this a fair comparison. Stackhouse had 5.3 assist per game on a playoff caliber team, Mobley was the starting PG for a playoff caliber team. I mean Mobley had 2.5 assist on a team that most of the time played without it's starting PG, PF, SF, and a Cato as center.
