Smells just like Jager to me... that I agree with. But the aftertaste is that of a pumpkin flavored root beer. Yum.

I went out looking for some Santo today and found four 4 packs of Dogfish Head Midas Touch at HEB. Sunday is going to be great.

Yeah there a bunch of Dogfish Head beers that I haven't tried. The 4-packs for $16 at Kroger's kind of makes me want to buy a good 6-pack for $9-10 instead.

I found a place that has the Ale, but not the Lager. I'm assuming it's the Lager everyone is going crazy over?

I normally don't spend like I did today but I haven't been able to get any for months. Spec's said that the distribution is odd for Dogfish Head, they never know how many they are going to get and they always sell out. I put 8 in the fridge and the others with my stored beers.

Pugs, are you talking Pumpkinator? It says Ale on the label.

Oomp, what would you say is the best dogfish head brew? The midas looks interesting after reading about it and I've always wanted to try their 120 minute IPA.

I like their Imperial IPA (I think that's the name.) I actually think those "historical brews" of theirs taste like ass, even if it's an authentic historical project.

I like their Punkin Ale and Raison D'etre.

    Indian Brown is good too.

Yeah I think that might refer to their 90 minute IPA, it is very good. I have a taste for hoppy brews. I just don't want to drop a pretty penny on a beer that tastes like ass.

B-Bob - I admit I was sucked in initially because of the "history" of Midas Touch, but I genuinely enjoy it. It's not a go out and drink multiple of them brew, but more a celebration drink for me. I was reading up about Chateau Jiahu today and I'd really like to try to find one of those.

My beer of choice right now is Boulevard's Tank 7. If I lived closer to KC, I would swim in the stuff.

Interesting -- thanks, oomp. I admit I only tried a Mayan one and something from India (I think) and they both tasted like they were made by neaderthals using hay, cow dung, dirt and grub worms. I haven't tried Midas Touch, but now I will.
