    Does this strike anyone else as a terrible idea?

    Probably a big time fail here. I wouldn't mind the remake showing some more of the gory details from the book that were left out of the original, but the best part of that movie was Bale as Bateman. Anybody else doing that part will seem like a cheep rip-off.

    The movie is barely 10 years old and is a classic as it stands.

    Terrible idea.

    Bale put on the performance of a lifetime in the first one. There's no way this one could come anywhere close to it. Terrible idea.

    It was the part Bale was born to play. Can't see anyone delivering at that level.

    so is it going to be set in the 90's instead of the 80's...with Bateman extolling the virtues of Soundgarden rather than Phil Collins?

    Harold, it's Bateman, Patrick Bateman. You're my lawyer so I think you should know: I've killed a lot of people. Some girls in the apartment uptown uh, some homeless people maybe 5 or 10 um an NYU girl I met in Central Park. I left her in a parking lot behind some donut shop. I killed Bethany, my old girlfriend, with a nail gun.........

    Bateman ---> Batman

    In The Dark Night Rises it will be revieled that this entire series of Batman movies are actually the insane fantasies of Patrick Bateman... Thus opening up new franchises of Batman and American Psycho movies

    More like Ace of Base and Celine Dion probably.

    Pointless remake is pointless.

    "I have to get to the Red Box."

    "Listen, you'll have to excuse me. I have a lunch meeting with Barney Stinson at the Four Seasons in twenty minutes."
