Anyone else get mudslinging from the GOP on this guy? They're going hard. My wife and I laugh at the endless paper they send about his Drug Infested Drug Desert Druggie Burning Man Drug parties. Honestly, he sounds like a fun guy.

Yep, I've been seeing a few of them (as well as some Cornyn ads)...he just barely lost to Olsen last time and Olsen isn't running this time around. A huge Dem turnout likely means that he'll win even without straight ticket voting.

Honestly, his cocaine riddled desert orgies sound fun as hell. I live in Fort Bend, and he's got my vote!

I have no idea who this guy is.

I just wanted to say that in my experience, cocaine addled sex parties in the desert are incredibly fun.

On my death bed you will not hear me say: "Gee I really wish I would have had less cocaine intoxicated sex parties. I so regret them."

GOP is rolling out a bland, white Sherriff-type guy to oppose him. Not the best current political climate in a diverse city like Houston for that type of look.

Sri is running against Cowboy Troy Nehls.

I’m voting for Sri for sure. Good ol’ boy Troy is a Trump supporter, so no way I could vote for him.

It should be interesting. Nehls has been trying to get this spot for years and Olson's retirement finally opened the seat up for him. He's trying to be Mr True blue, patriotic, Army Reserve, decorated sheriff type to try to garner support from most of the whites in Fort Bend County. However, demographics in the country are shifting quick in the county.

Nehls also isn't as squeaky clean as his ads try to make him out to be as he had quite a few problems in the military and as a sheriff. The crazy thing is that he's a huge Trumper, but was actually out Trumped by freaking Kathleen Wall...the crazy lady that keeps trying to buy and election in Houston.

I have a feeling Nehls is going to lose due to turnout, but I also wouldn't be surprised to see him run again 2 years from now.

By the way, this is the District they are competing in. I just moved from Cinco Ranch to Missouri City and I'm in the same freaking district as I was before. As most Texas districts are, it's terribly gerrymandered (see below) . That little cutout between Missouri City and the Ft Bend Parkway was done as that's mostly an African American area in the county. However, Missouri City, Sugarland have become very diverse and Republicans weren't expecting for Pearland to grow so big over the last decade and also become diverse. I would expect this district to change if Republicans are able to control the gerrymandering again next time around. Still not as bad as Crenshaw's district.

@RayRay10 That's all very interesting. I had no intention of voting for a Sheriff with a military background given how one of the biggest domestic issues is that we need to roll back the current militarized police force.

Being a Trumper is just a piece of corn on the turd. Or the other way around.

We had a Wall flunky come by the house and he asked my wife by her name if she was going to vote for Wall. She laughed at him and said he looked offended.

Holy crap, I vaguely remember the old redistricting story that eliminated a democratic seat, but did not realize how messed up my district is.
