Chouijie and I have disagreed on practically mostly everything about Yao / brooks/ lowry and other stuff.

But he is spot on with his statement.

This is one of the more ignorant posts I've ever read on the board.

How much coaches make compare to lux tax? How much more these coaches make compare to league average? The difference might be much smaller than a MLE unless you tell me Les can coach by himself.

How much does it take to hire Morey compare to NBA players salary? How much did Les spend on equipment? How do they compare to the value Rockets gained during these years? I bet you don't have no idea either? But I can savely say they are way less than the Franchis value increase. Which is in hundreds of millions.

How much Les spend on draft picks? How much is the money he got from insurance company on Yao's inury alone? 80% of Yao's salary in last 2 years is way bigger than any money Les spent to buy picks, I again can safely tell you that. And that doesn't even include insurance money he got from Tmac.

Hope you can see how cheap Les is by now.

I noticed Fran's writing got slightly less annoying after getting canned by the Chron. But, it's still annoying.

This. I remember Cuban talking about this years ago, that when he first came in, he thought he could spend his way to contention, and then discovered that overspending had diminishing returns. You don't need to spend like Isiah Thomas to win. Being in the luxury tax probably says more about the GM's skill than the owner's desire to win.

you sir are not only making things up but you're also ignoring the facts.

yao ming added no more than $8 million a year to the rockets' gross earnings. i don't have a source for this, but there was a clutchfans forum about it from awhile back, find it if you'd like.

http://hoopshype.com/salaries.htm the rockets are 6th in team payroll. les spends the money, that's the bottom line.

les never fired rudy t, rudy t quit for health reasons. les has fired only jvg and now rick adelman. two firings in two decades. no scapegoats.

are you telling me that you would rather not have kevin martin, luis scola patrick patterson, chase budinger, courtney lee, kyle lowry, and goran dragic (all morey acquisitions, with only scola having been here for more than 2 years)? put dwight howard in the middle of this group and i'm watching a western conference finals game 7 at toyota center.

please give me examples of great players les and daryl have not tried to acquire, either through free agency or trade. who's been available? who's accepted coming here? who's been traded away that you would rather have kept? ariza? artest? battier? brooks? landry? none of those players would start on our team today.

tanking is what the clippers do. they have blake griffin, deandre jordan, eric bledsoe, farouq al aminu, 3 lottery picks and a young hyped up center. all from tanking. what was their record this year? ok.

since 2000, the rockets have had 2 losing seasons. you don't have 9 winning seasons spanning 3 different coaches and 2 different GMs without having a savvy owner wielding a generous checkbook.

sorry, but i refuse to mistake what is seemingly pessimism for actual foolishness.

connections to china in the form of their biggest icon don't have to directly correlate to rockets earnings. Business dealings outside of the rockets trademark alone take place, that you would be foolish to ignore.

Basic tax evasion, you can basically downsize your income by putting extra expenses under different accounts like stuff for your business, home etc, and actually have it some where else for safe keeping and use any sort of excuse if you're asked about it.

Don't ask me how I know.

If Les was making so much money, why were they still laying people off within the organization?

Fran is a Rockets fan. My money says he knows/care more about this team than any other team in this league.

LOL at Yao makes 8 mil a year for Rockets. I haven't had such a good lauch for a while.

Yao makes more than 8 mil alone for his current and former teammates, look at their Chinese brand shoes.

Tell me one thing: Rockets was one of the handful of teams which actually made a profit during the ecnomic downturn. How has that happened?

Did Rockets sell more tickets than other teams? Look at all those empty seats and you should have a better idea now.

Did Rockets sell more jerseys than other teams? How many Lowry jersey or Martin jersey have you seen on the street?

Did Rockets go into playoffs deep to make extra money? 2nd round once in 15 years and just missed playoffs twice in a row.

So how is Rockets making that much profit? Look at those Chinse ads you should have a better idea now. Don't tell me Rockets would get those ads because of Chuck Hayes.

I'm not saying every penny Les made is from Yao, but 8 mil per year from Yao is just plain laughable.

I don't see any point arguing with you when you don't even have any common sense.

He never offered valuable insight, but his hate was second to none.

What is it about sports journalism that attracts a-holes?

The Rockets have tried getting marquee players like Bosh and Anthony, but it was not up the Rockets whether or not they would come here. The biggest problem was McGrady and Yao taking up so much salary space and them always sitting in street clothes. It also made it near impossible to move them without getting something good in return and they couldn't spend above to bring qulaity FAs in. Essentially they were stuck with a bunch of above-average role players and no superstar which is why they've been mediocre the past two seasons.

The link the OP provided definitely was working earlier, as I was listening to it myself.
