We play our game Wednesday an hour before the Spurs and Jazz. So the Rockets would be foolish to tank against the Clips before even knowing the outcome of the other game.

Not really, we have to beat the Clippers for anything of the stated match-ups to happen, and we hold the tie breaker if we are tied with Phoenix.

Provided we beat the Clips, it changes absolutely nothing.

well, if it's a 7 game series, we wouldnt have gotten slaughtered too bad now, would we?

you can double duncan and make parker or ginobili beat you? it's just that easy, huh? problem solved i guess. i like how you say that like those are 2 run-of-the-mill players. those guys are both better than every player on our team, and will both feast on us. we dont have anybody to guard them, especially if duncan is being doubled. battier can guard alot of people heads up, but ginobili is out of his league.

how about we double boozer and make williams or okur beat us (assuming the formula for defense and winning basketball games is just that simple). wouldnt that be alot better than the spurs trio?

I believe Spurs-Jazz was bumped back to 8:30 for a national broadcast.

Game over. Spurs win. Hopefully they don't tank against Utah on Wednesday or the Rockets are toast.

i didnt say the series would go to 7 games, but even if it did, i could see us sneaking by with victory at home and getting blown out every game on the road. wait a minute, that sounds familiar...oh right, the same thing happened last year!

utah is a better team than SA. that's just my opinion. because i believe that, i think utah makes you pay for trying to double anyone or cheat on defense moreso than SA will. SA relies on their big 3 to win games, so if you can make 1 of those 3 struggle you have a good chance to win. you can't say the same about utah, because they (like the rockets in the winning streak) beat you collectively. im not an idiot, both teams would be difficult to beat. but utah is just a stronger team than SA in my opinion.

So here's what needs to happen:

Adelman brings a walky-talkie to the game against the Clippers, with someone at the SA-UTAH game on the other side of the walky talkie.

    - if utah is up big, the rockets tank. That way, they lose and end up playing utah as the 6th seed since PHO will probably beat the Blazers (with new orleans as the potential second-round matchup instead of LA)

    - if SA is up big, then finish

    - if the game is close, force overtime with the clippers and drag the game on until someone wins the UTAH-SA game

So nothing to worry about here, folks. :D

am I in the minority in wanting to play New Orleans in the first round? They have all unproven players and Peja's shot turns into ryan bowens in playoff time.

If we can, I would tank down to the six spot or do everything possible to face them.

and no, it wouldnt be us doubling boozer and making williams or okur beat us. it would be us doubling boozer and watching williams, okur, harpring, millsap, korver, or kirilenko beat us. which is just my point: utah hurts you with everything they have. and they match up particularly well against houston.

LMAO for those kids who say "tank".

The Spurs want to win out and have HC advantage against the Jazz in case they will meet in the WCF. The Spurs dont want to lose the tie breaker to the Jazz. But the Spurs need Ginobili to beat the Jazz. I think Ginobili will play limited minutes in Wednesday. Ginobili needs one game warm up and get ready for the playoffs after sitting out for a few games.
