Ok i'll give credit to the spurs for:

    1. Beating the teams that they should have beaten (injuries or no injuries). They saw that opponents were getting hurt and used that to their advantage. If anyone can honestly say that they wouldn't use that as leverage in winning then that's BS.

    2. True. They did survive out West and won the tough West.

BUT they have their faults as well:

    1. No close-out experience--even WITH vets. I mean c'mon Pop, if you see your lead go from 28 to 12 you KNOW you better sub in some vets that know how to keep leads.

    2. Popovich's hardheadedness almost cost them their ring he better be glad that he got Duncan Parker and especially Kerr on his team.

    3. Relying TOO MUCH on Parker. What was up with Robinson calling Parker out? I'm sorry but who do you think you are when YOU'RE the one retiring and can't play no more to call out a TWENTY year old 2nd year point guard and asked him to step up. As inconsistent as he's been throughout the playoffs, the times he DID step up equated to wins..BIG wins.

    4. Finally...THE CAN'T SHOOT WORTH A LICK!!! I'm sorry but at least i KNOW our 94 Rox had shooters--Smith, Cassell, Maxwell, Horry, Elie etc etc. They got shut down here and there but when you look at this year's Spurs, the only perimeter threat they had was the guy that got like 10 minutes a game--Kerr.

Ugliest finals ever? ABSOLUTELY. Worst champs....that's quite a bit much to call a team that came out on top. To me there isn't a 'worst champ ever' but this year's Final was sure the ugliest/worst.

were people saying the spurs couldnt shoot when they beat the lakers, and then the mavs? if the spurs couldnt shoot, they wouldnt have won 60 games and gotten to the finals. for some reason (perhaps the pressure of the moment and great defense by the nets) they couldnt shoot in the finals. now everyone only cares how they looked in the finals.

I can't believe he said Parish was mostly along with the ride.

It's that old argument, "Jordan carried the team, Pippen was just along for the ride."

Or, "Shaq carried the team, Kobe was just a long for the ride..."

    True, Parish, wasn't a leader...
But even though all the players I mentioned above may have been the 2nd or 3rd options on the team, in my opinion, they made a huge contribution.

Same with James Worthy for the Lakers.

And I hope, this will be the case for Eddie Griffin.

One of these days Griffin will become the 3rd option. But someone will still say that Griffin was along for the ride.

Only Rocket fans will know differently (and some basketball purist).

I'm convinced that anyone besides the Lakers that would've won this year would've been given this title, worst champion ever. Its such B.S., and I'm not even a Spurs fan. It just reminds me of when the Rockets won, and nobody gave them credit because MJ was gone.

And this is even worse because the Spurs are the ones who knocked off the defending champions and they still cant get credit. Ridiculous.

If anything, it does say a lot about Duncan and Dream (of '94). They both carried a team to a title w/out a 2nd option...as if you truly need it.

The spurs hit 101 in game 1, and 93 in another game. Other than that, nobody hit 90 or above at all.
