If this were any other team I would call it a PR stunt.

But the Spurs could add a poodle to the staff and I would think it must be brilliant. I have doubts as to whether a woman can be a leader of men in sports, but as an assistant I see no reason why she couldn't be really good at her job

 

Hell . .the women shoot free throws a ton better than the guys
I think we need some women free throw coaches at least here

I'm fairly certain Hammon played for the SA Silver Stars in the WNBA, so the big 3 will probably "force" the rest of the Spurs to respect her, as they probably know Hammond.

If it were any other team (Lakers hiring Lisa Leslie to be Asst. Coach, for ex) then I think gender bias would definitely be present.

 

What? Did they hire her to be the free throw coach or because Duncan is gay and they need to coach him back to the right side of the fence

 

Spurs already have the best shooting coach in the league in Chip Engelland.
