i'm guessing its spring break next month. ok, now my turn to high jack the thread. would you go to vegas just for the sake that you are getting free rooms? For some reason I got 3 free nights for march, no blackout dates and its at high end place.
Damn, I love Vegas. Went there last Xmas and had a great time. Watched Jubilee. It was a good show. Make sure you use buy 1 get 1 free coupon. Watched O show. I didn't realize it was cirque before I went. I am not into cirque of any kinds so I was totally disappointed. Wynns and Ballagio's buffet were good. I played Taxes Hold'em every night when I stayed there. The money I won well paid my trip and much more. So actually I enjoyed the hell of Legas and I was actually paid by other tourists by doing this. Totally awesome.
I'd go in a heartbeat, man. Are you really asking this? I mean, you support the place as much as anyone.. Is that why you were considering going for round 1 of the tourney? Well, let me know if you're around.. I'll be there Tues nite-Sat nite of round 1, maybe we can catch a Rockets game when the tourney's not on
i'll be in vegas for the first weekend of march madness... staying at the bellagio and watching the games in their sports book if any of you guys wanna meet up to watch games - let me know.
I'm on my way to Vegas too, lookin for deals (flight/hotel/car) right now. Shooting for the March 12th-16th window (Thurs-Tues). Been reading all the suggestions and taking notes on my own, it's just me and a buddy....sorta a 23rd bday get away for the both of us. Looking to get a nicer, younger hotel with a nice pool, then hit the Vegas strip for some walkin and touristy business. Check out some of the amusements and the stratosphere things. Lookin for good comedy clubs and such too. Don't really do the gambling thing or the drinking thing, but if it's cool decor and environment then we're down. Charlie Murphy is in town at House of Blues on that Saturday, so definately lookin forward too that. Sadly haven't found any airfaire under 350. Anyone with any advice? Also if anyone is in Vegas during that time and wants to hang out, let me know. If your Clutchfans, then your Clutchfam that's what I say....unless your a newbie. =P Jokes.
The young people places are the hard rock and the palms. both off strip but very close, you can take a shuttle or cheap cab. for pool, the mandalay and hard rock and the mirage. for a good bargain on the strip, Treasure Island or Luxor are good and have younger crowds.
Just a quick Public Service Announcement...do yourself a huge favor...stay away from Tahiti Village and any special you might run into regarding them. Timeshare sales gimmicks. Thank you. Carry on.
lol heard bout the timeshares. Point taken. Thanks for the kayak tip btw, did not know that site. Through there, I just found a Hotel+Air for $395, Southwest Airlines & CircusCircus Hotel, Chicago to Vegas from 3/12-3/16. Most likely gonna book that....will hold out til tonight or tomorrow though for any recommendations, coupon codes, etc. =P
DO NOT BOOK CIRCUS CIRCUS, ESPECIALLY THROUGH A PACKAGE. I REPEAT, DO NOT BOOK CIRCUS CIRCUS, ESPECIALLY THROUGH A PACKAGE. ONE MORE TIME: DO NOT BOOK CIRCUS CIRCUS.
it's not in the middle of the action, it's meant for kids and families.. yeah, that's pretty much the gist of it
Book your flight seperate and then priceline a 5 star hotel. IMO if you go to vegas you need to stay at one of the best hotels. I'm going this weekend, got Wynn on priceline for SATURDAY night for $115.
March 1 is not the same as March 15.. I don't agree that you "need to stay at one of the best hotels" Just don't stay at Circus Circus.. something like Luxor or Treasure Island or Monte Carlo is just fine if other options are out of your price range. (I'd certainly try priceline.. just don't expect prices like $115 for the weekend you're going)
But besides kids/family, any other MAJOR complaints? The reason I'm lookin at the package is that I'm having a hard enough time finding a flight below $340 on its own, and then even if I do go through priceline and pick up a hotel for 3 nights, that'll still run me another 100-150 at minimum for 3 nights, bringing my total to $500+. I'm trying to stay under/around $400 so that I can spend the rest of my money on the attractions, etc. I plan on hotel hoppin at night either way, and pool hoppin during the day time, so I can still take in the luxuries of the other hotels. I can save that extra $100 some and invest in a rental car. No? I just don't see an upgrade from CircusCircus worth the $100+ bucks.
lol BUT WHYYYYYY everyone with the "dont stay at circuscircus" Give me some reasonin! It's just me and a buddy who's a dude, it's not like it's me and my wife or someone?! Is it really THAT important not to stay at CircusCircus!
Need to travel on mar. 16 and leave on mar. 20. I'd like to travel from austin, but i'll drive to houston if it's cheaper. BTW, how is the monorail system? I checked out their website $28 for a 3-day pass sure beats renting a car. I think it runs up and down the central strip.
