Well, I hope this ends all those ridiculous theories of JVG "refusing to develop V-Span because he's not getting a contract extension, so why bother helping them in the future" (not trying to point out names but, DD) . Haters were already saying JVG was done just because he didn't receive an extension midway through the season. Guess what haters, the NBA process is year-round, not 3 months. Hate it or love it, JVG is not done and may return next year. ......And the JVG Haters take another blow, any more and this match is over!
our GM has admitted to be shopping for a big with the TE that expires in 6 days and there isn't more speculation? i thought this was the CF.net BBS.... this thread should be like 20 pages long with posts about KG, gasol, and every other player which our team has no chance of getting and won't fit under the TE. well at least posts about calvin booth, loren woods, and steven hunter. get to thinking people!
Fix yours first. On a side note, this board could prove to be a great help to improve the grammar of many people.
random names...steven hunter, dale davis of course, gadzuric, othella, tsakalidis, ok now im bored...isnt a whole lot out there for just a t/e (that another team would actually consider) CD did mention something about a 2 for 2 or 3 for 2 deal. i have no idea. im hesitant to move some of the guys but then you have to give a little to get a little. hoopshype still shows wards and rybo's contract through this year...is that right?
No kidding. This sort of thread should be a mile long. We've barely gone once around the track. Maybe we're all Friday-tired?
I'm trying to think of big men that might be available. I'd prefer another defensive big man who can rebound, and a backup pg. At first I looked at Orlando and thought of Battie/Diener, but Battie's contract is a little suspect and he's hurt now. I was thinking the Magic would throw in Diener for taking Battie's contract. I look at Atlanta with Lorenzen Wright, Memphis has some nice atheletic big men with Warrick/Roberts, etc. Milwaukee with Gadzuric would be an option. I think a Jeff Foster/Darrell Armstrong combo is possible, but Foster's trade kicker makes it a little harder. Armstrong is a vet PG who I would trust taking some of Rafer's minutes. Anyone else?
wright is an interesting guy, more than servicable. plus, jvg would have the some inside scoop on him since his buddy coached him in memphis. foster is one i didnt think of...also servicable. plus darrell armstrong and tmac had/have a good relationship since their orlando days, at least i think thats right
Speaking of Darrell Armstrong, have any of you seen the block shots he has had recently. What has gotten into the little man? That guy is an amazing teammate and competitor. He brings great leadership and Doc Rivers has been quoted saying that once they let Armstrong leave the Magic that is when they started losing. I would love to have a guy like that although the leadership thing is a little overdone on our team. We've got really good solid veterans who are bigger leaders than people think.(Juwan, Battier, and Deke) I think he could fill the backup PG role perfectly though with his tough D and will to win. Of course, I hated him when he was on the Mavs. Who knows if Indiana would give him up.
The chemistry has been great and it’s been that way since JVG has been here. If there is a big deal out there that gives us another scorer/rebounder that changes the entire complexion of this team you have to do that. We've been at the doorstep for too long to backdown because of said team chemistry. Though, I'm really glad everyone gets along. At the moment we're good. Unfortunately, we're not elite. We also have to consider the future. We can't sit around here every year Yao and/or Tracy go down waiting for them to return. We're doing much better for ourselves this year than last but obviously that injury excuse has worn us out. I don't know what is attainable that could make us elite but I think we're entering the stretch run here. We've built a roster with a bunch of solid complimentary pieces. Some look better than others. If we're win now, we're going to need to make hell out of hay to get to the next level. There's nothing you can do if there isn't anything out there but this team is really missing that x-factor. Maybe Bonzi is it. -- Maybe he isn't. If not, we have a week to find him, or it’s another early vacation for us.
