    Honestly
I was wonder when their contract is up with the Rockets
I don't listen to Texans games there
    and
If charlie had more access to the Rockets
    I think they would destroy 610 . . .alot

Your sob story doesn't resonate with me. Oh well. *shrug*

You can voice your opinion all you want, but do it the right way. We're attacking you because you picked the wrong person to attack. You KNOW this is not a thread about Chance, yet you got on your soapbox anyway and delivered some cheapshots. (And, BTW, Chance was contributing to this site long before you got here.)

Oh, and please stop attempting to attack me for voicing my opinion on your opinion. KTHXBYE.

That’s great. It shows you the maturity and ethics of Lance.

It’s that type of person who would force Chance to choose his loyalties much in the same way 12-year-old “it” girls would force their new initiate to drop an unpopular friend.

I hope I’m wrong, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Chance doesn’t have to go incognito if he wants to continue to contribute to this community.

I've been laying low for a while for a couple of reasons........

    1. I simply hate what happen and how this escalated to something ugly.

    2. Didn't have the time to respond.

I've been a member for a while and PROUD as hell to be one. I took offense to what Lance said, it was like someone took a shot at my family. I spoke with Clutch shortly after he closed the thread and remember thinking, "I regret this" but in my heart....I didn't. I tried to make sure that my post was clear to point out that it was a "rumor" that players and other "stars" were talking about this even before I got to the event. Even though I mention a particular player, he wasn't the only one talking about the subject. I also said in the post to "take it for what it was worth" Normally....I would not have posted a rumor like that, but due to the circumstances.....it seemed to have made sense. He (Tracy) was sucking it up on the court and there was no clear explanation to why. I was out and about during all-star weekend and it was a hot bed topic around the COUNTRY not just Houston. I didn't come up with it (rumor)...the story didn't brew in Houston.........this storm came from outside the city limits and here we are today discussing the damage. Me and my buddies heard a rumor that made sense and the first thing that popped in my dome was to bring it to ClutchCity.

I'm loyal but I'm realistic and reasonable. If I did something wrong, guys I'm sorry.I understand that this rumor got back to Tracy and the Rockets and that upsets me a little because I'm a TRUE fan. I know he's a public figure and thus must endure such rumors and stories, but it doesn't seem fair to him.....I understand that. Sometimes, we as fans feel as if we are owed some kind of explanation to why players are not at their best. We are paying customers and want answers. I and every Tracy fan wanted to know what was wrong with him and if we hear something that makes sense....we'll talk about it. Now while that thread was breathing life, there were some comments made about the situation that were tacky and tastless. I didn't find the coments funny and I'm sure others felt the same way. But who I am? I'm not their judge nor jury.

Since 2002, I've been a member of a family and I take personal pride in this community I belong to. I also take responsibility for the fire and I appreciate Clutch for being my Johnny Cochran and standing by not only me...but all of us. Lance is the worst radio personality in Houston and John is a house slipper away. I rather listen to people pee-pee outside my bedroom window each morning than to listen to that morning show. I could care less what they thought about this. What I do care about is that this site's reputation was questioned because of a post I created. Again......I'm not sorry for bringing the rumor to the board for discussion, but I am sorry that Clutch has to defend me and the site. It was not my intentions.

Just wanted to throw this tidbit in, because I still remember it vividly, and it annoyed me so much I actually called them on the air and chewed them out about it.

Remember the innuendo and rumor flying aorund after the untimely death of Darryl Kile?

Allegedly someone found something like a single mar1juana seed near an ashtray in the hotel room in which DK had been staying. Never mind the notion that hotel rooms are not regularly cleaned my molecular physicists, and that it is far more likely that any such 'residue' was a leftover from who knows how long ago - no, that did not stop the rumors from flying.

And here was John and Lance (but primarily John, frankly) just making one veiled accusation after another that DK was 'on drugs', was 'smoking weed', stuff like that.

I was PO'd enough by that that I called them up and chewed them out for saying such things, even before there were any autopsy results. It was basically a statement of, 'You guys absolutely should NOT be saying such things when you have no idea if they are true or not, because just by saying them, you damage his reputation and his memory.' That kind of thing.

They were saying what they were saying without thinking of the implications, and when I called them out on it, they actually agreed that it was the wrong thing for them to be doing.

Just wanted to share that, seeing as how Lance was essentially complaining about the same sort of deal. I like J&L, but hypocrisy annoys me. I think a few dozen thousand emails from members here may help them understand the error of their ways.. ;)

You're fine. You disclaimered that thread to the hilt. Lance just decided to play games and used it for his own agenda.

It'd be nice if you two would let it go or take it outside this thread.

Since you asked. Because of this post, awhile back when he said he would KILL someones dog if his kid provoked the dog and the dog bit his kid. That is why.

I was about to post "Jeez, what, did Chance run over your dog?" I guess you answered my question.

LOL ... you guys have had me in tears with the Photoshop stuff. The last 3 in particular were hilarious.

sjackson0 -- I appreciate you posting your thoughts ... I thought it was very well said. We can all learn from the experience, but the last thing I would ever want to do is discourage people from posting unique experiences that provide insight or tell a story. I thought yours did and I saw it quickly ... I can take responsibility for whether it belonged here or not.

Don't sweat it though ... Lance's reactions have shown that this is something more for him than what he says it is. All the reasons I don't know, but it is definitely not about "doing the right thing".

Imagine if I walked up to you with a mic in a packed arena and said, "You know, when those people yesterday called you fat, ugly and stupid, I defended you ... and I think it's outrageous that you would have to put up with that. You have meant so much to me and all these people here and I'm not going to stand for it -- it is ridiculous that these lowlifes would put that out there. And speaking of ridiculous, have you seen how ridiculously low the ticket prices are at TA-Tickets.com?"

Basically, in this case, I'm Lance and you're T-Mac (damn did I get the short stick). While I act like I'm doing you a favor, the reality is you're sitting there saying to yourself, "Someone called me fat, ugly and stupid?" while thousands of listeners are learning of it as well.

And while you ponder that, let's go to a commercial break.

I missed this thread until now.

    GOLD.

I can also say that from now on, due to Lance's sermon, the next 12,000 of my posts will be researched with Columbia School of Journalism-style integrity and be vetted by a panel of experts.

"Is this picture of Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche appropriate right now?"

"Does it comport with Cayman Islands libel laws, will I get sued?"

"Is C60 the molecule I want to invoke here? Perhaps this post is better characterized with CH4?"

It'll mean a LOT more work for me, but I think it's worth it.

I think what people sometimes don't get about this site is that it is experiential. The reason it is so much fun is that we can live vicariously through the guy that said, "Man, I saw Mobley driving down Richmond. I yelled, 'Hey, Cat, we love you!' and he smiled and waved. It was awesome!"

That kind of stuff is EXACTLY what makes this place so cool. It's about the everyFAN and our experiences with the team. Some are closer to the action than others and can give more legit insight into the workings of the team. Some just fire off links from Chinese media sources about JVG interviews. Whatever. It all adds to what the site is about.

That is what makes the site so powerful and also what makes it a place where we all want to hang and share stories. Sometimes, the stories are pretty out there, but that's how things are in real life. If this were a normal media outlet, we would lose that experiental element that makes this place so cool. You can't get that through 610, ESPN or the Houston Chronicle.
