Regarding blocking 610 -- I left that out and meant to include it... I spelled out just about everything that I said above in my only email reply to Lance (outside of the "expressing of gratitude to Pappa Journalism" initial email). Since I said I would go ahead and start the thread on the board about this topic, his reply was very fast and very long, and considerably softer in tone. "I respect the job you do", etc., etc. I thought most of it was fair enough. I didn't reply though ... I know he later took some vague shots at the site on that morning's show, but I left it at that. However, one part of his email that he got snippy about was my comment that he didn't say anything about the thread BEFORE we knew what was going on with T-Mac (in other words, sooner after it was initially posted). His reply was that he doesn't troll the board every day -- he only checks it "every 7-12 days". See, if I told you, "I don't listen to such-and-such radio show", you really can't prove whether I'm telling the truth or not. However, when you say, "I don't check the message board" when you're a logged in user and you're coming from a static IP address, it's not quite so easy to skate by with just the words. I'll just say: Lance wasn't telling the truth. So to prove my point (and because it was a hell of a lot of fun), I temporarily blocked 610's IP. Keep in mind, there are a million other ways for them to get in here and they are using them... I just wanted him to think twice about his ridiculously one-sided, half-truth bull****. I think it got to him -- The "idiots" comment by Lance was purely anger over that. Unfortunately, I knew Chance would be a casualty from it -- I like Chance and think he's been a very valuable contributor to the board. I didn't really consider him "guilty by association" until Thursday when Lance was dropping in his name. He is welcome to contact me -- I'm reasonable.
Because Chance may not have had anything to do with this and he has always been an upstanding poster in my opinion. I feel like he should get the benefit of the doubt until something is shown otherwise. Personally, I'd hate for Chance to not be on the board anymore but I trust Clutch's decision because sometimes we do not know the whole story.
Because Chance was a good poster and member of this community BEFORE he even worked at 610. Lance has no history here. Also, you're taking cheapshots at Chance in a Lance-bashing thread. But I guess I wouldn't expect anything less from an Aggie. (Oops! Did I just make a cheapshot? Feels great, eh?)

That does feel great. I couldn't afford to go to A&M so I took out student loans and went to UH. I've been called worse than an Aggie. Plus I have thick skin so cheapshots don't bother me.
I like Chance and MattJ, I think most people here don't have a problem with them. I thought Lance was childish about this whole thing, but he did mention Chance's name in his whole 'rant'.
Chance comes to the board every day, you don't think he's probably the one who pointed out the thread to Lance & company to begin with?
He was mentioning something about Chance blocking the site from their offices. The funny thing is, it looks like Clutch was the one that blocked their IP, not Chance limiting their access to this site.

It'd be a shame if mattj couldn't post here anymore. I've always liked Matt and his shows. I'm no fan of Chance's music, but he's got a place here, too. I find it odd that Lance thinks the majority of his listeners care about Clutchfans. This is a place for the die-hards, not your average 610 listener. Where 610's coverage ends, Clutchfans' begins. Anytime something significant happens with the Rockets, I can say for absolute certain that nobody in here rushes to turn on 610. They come here and keep hitting Ctrl+R. I'm surprised Lance even gave airtime to the issue. After all, that's an hour he could have spent masturbating the higher-ups over at Wildcat.
